Personality:
Daisuke is lazy. It's his most obvious trait. Like all (or most) lazy people, he comes off as apathetic and cold. Even a bit heartless. However, that is nothing more than a mere surface level trait that he developed over the years while working for his older brother. The truth is, he couldn't be anymore dedicated. While he may seem like he could care less, really he couldn't care more. (Of course this doesn't apply to everything.) Daisuke will, in fact, go out of his way to help someone in danger. In most cases he will risk his life to do it. His façade is likely an attempt to prevent people from bothering him all the time. He undoubtedly cares, but he doesn't like to get pestered. Most of the time you can find him lounging around taking small naps or resting. It doesn't take much to keep him content. Some food and sleep, and maybe a little excitement on the side and he's happy.

Despite Daisuke's overall laziness, he is rather dedicated to the people he involves himself with on a day to day basis. He believes that friends are an important thing to have. He will make it a point to get through to people if he finds what they need is a little extra push. Whether this method is being the shoulder to lean on, or having a mêlée in an abandoned stadium, Daisuke is there doing it. He is beyond loyal to his friends.

His attitude is about as enthusiastic as his work ethic. Daisuke is rather snarky and even a little sarcastic. Daisuke actually has quite the sense of humor and enjoys a little joke here and there. Always making small attempt to lightened the mood when possible. (Usually they never work.) He usually isn't very acidic with his words, rather he annoys people on purpose for his own amusement. Sometimes he'll get a kick out of people overreacting over silly things. Although he tends to have the opposite reaction when it starts to go overboard. In which case Daisuke would advise them to chill out (and not take it out on him.) Depending on the situation he'll also show concern.

When the going gets serious, his roundabout way of doing things is quickly discarded with a more appropriate emotion. Given his profession as a Special Defense Unit, he acts cautiously according to situation. When he is getting shot at, he takes cover. When someone is trying to stab him, disarm them. Daisuke has a knack of getting into trouble all the time, so his survival instincts emerge almost instantaneously. Just as quickly as Daisuke could switch into flight or fight mode, he can switch calm and unimpressed. Whatever the trouble, he still manages to let his guard down no matter how much his life is put in danger.

Daisuke isn't particularly closed-minded, nor is he wildly open-minded. He wont believe just anything. The more far-fetched it sounds, the less likely he is to believe it. This doesn't mean he will reject proof though. If someone says they're a vampire, and than randomly flashed out their fangs ready to eat him, he would believe it then. His partner was a fully capable android. What's something like a vampire or a demon when given enough evidence to believe so. On this subject Daisuke isn't discriminate either, and is rather accepting of others. No matter the race, culture, or belief. Petty details like that just get in the way of genuine feelings which is something Daisuke has a lot of.

No matter how dire or desperate things are or become. Daisuke doesn't resort to spiteful things. You could even say he's too lazy to actually hold a grudge. Really he's just more empathetic than he initially lets on and is always giving people the benefit of the doubt even if he appears otherwise. Usually most of the kills he commits are results of accidents or when then opposing force refuses to let down. He isn't particularly violent, nor does he intentionally harm others even when given a valid reason. He's a pacifist in this regard.

Third-Person Sample:
Daisuke grasped the red sunglasses from his white jacket and placed them on. He was expecting them to tell him where he was, but to no avail. "This probably isn't Judou." His technology was unresponsive; he assumed it short-circuited when he got here. "I don't get paid enough for this." He complained as he subtly yanked them from his face. The lazy blonde slipped his hands into his pockets while he analyzed his surrounding area. His first though was to look for anything peculiar or dangerous. Anything that stood out to him, but most of it appeared abandon. Off to the side was a unique communicator, one he's never seen before. "Heh, they could have at least left me a tour guide." Daisuke picked it up and examined it. He was very careful at first, for all he knew it could have been rigged. Anything with a note usually indicated a trap, threat, or to put a victim in a state of unease. "Means of communication, huh?"

For the benefit of his safety, Daisuke didn't use it. He's experienced enough bombs in his lifetime to know that sometimes even pressing a button on a seemingly harmless device was enough end your existence. Daisuke wasn't willing to risk his life. He'll just have to find a different means of communication until he was certain that it wouldn't explode. Only after that, would he feel comfortable using it.
"They sure make it welcoming." Oh no! He didn't have ill feelings about this place at all! In fact, he felt completely and totally safe. There was nothing that's going to jump out and try to kill him.

He was curious if the population was truly scarce, or were there nearby towns with more people in them? Daisuke wasn't eager to find out since he knew next to nothing regarding his situation and the place he was in. Let alone how and why. Daisuke was certain he was with his brother and J before coming here, so either he was taken alone or they were taken with him. However, he woke up alone, and it was hard to tell if the other two were here. "Ugh, I don't know where to even look for them." It's not like he had anything to lead him to them, if they were even here that is. "I'm sure there's someone around here I can ask." And hope to the Celestials that they weren't going to try to kill him.

First-Person Sample:
J, are you there? J?

[No luck.]

Tch. At least they were nice enough to leave me my gun. My glasses and cell phone are as good as useless though. I'll never hear the end of it from Kyoko, just my luck.

[...]

This isn't exactly what I had in mind when I did all that work. [A sigh.] Hm. It looks like this place could use some work. It could use some people too. Where even am I? [Another sigh.]

Guess I'd better figure it out.
