Last Supper

He wanted it to be as quick and as painless as possible. But apparently, the entire universe had decided to conspire against him and with the one person in the room who was pretty much out to get him. At least, Li Syaoran thought to himself, there was one other person who seemed to be sympathetic with him.

“Make yourself at home, Li-kun. Dinner should be ready in a little while.”

Syaoran gave the elder Kinomoto male a tight smile before a sigh escaped him, one that made his shoulders hunch over. ‘Make yourself at home.’ One of those ‘easy to say, hard to do’ type of reassurances. Not with Kinomoto Touya sitting in front of him, his dark suspicious eyes trained on him like some investigator, he sure wasn't reassured. He was even better at staring people down compared to his own mother. Syaoran forced himself to stare at anything but Touya, not wanting to incite a glaring match. Somehow, he wanted to blame his girlfriend for hatching such a plan and then bailing out on him at the last minute.

But he knew that Sakura meant well, leaving him to sit down and have dinner with her family. And while Kinomoto-sensei was very accommodating, the opposite could be said about his son.

“If you think you’ll get my sister so easily, you’re mistaken, brat.”

The Chinese teenager bit back a retort but leveled Touya’s glare with one of his own. “That’s up to Sakura.”

“Shut up! You’re not getting her. Period!”

Only the oldest male in the room could bravely get in between the line of fire and prevent any more knives and daggers from being thrown around. He seemed to have had experience restraining people with short tempers. Touya kept his mouth shut after a gentle, not-a-scolding type of reprimand coming from his father. But Syaoran knew that it wasn’t over yet. Not yet. Kinomoto Touya was one who did not give up so easily.

He sighed yet again, making terrible peace with himself. It was going to be one long dinner, he was certain of it.
