Below is a list of my favorite episodes from Season Two of the STARZ series, "BLACK SAILS", a television prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1883 novel, "Treasure Island". Created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine, the series starred Toby Stephens, Hannah New and Luke Arnold:

TOP FAVORITE EPISODES OF "BLACK SAILS" SEASON TWO (2015)



1. (2.09) "XVII" - A wary reunion in Charleston with a former friend from the past lead Captain James Flint and Mrs. Miranda “Barlow” to deal with their past. Meanwhile, Captain Charles Vane claims Flint’s captured Spanish galleon as his prize in Charleston Harbor, in response to losing his hostage.



2. (2.01) "IX" - Flint and ship’s cook John Silver face judgment before the former’s crew on the Florida coast. Vane enjoys his new position as possessor of Nassau’s fort. And a new threat arrives in the form of Captain Ned Low and his crew, who have just acquired a prized hostage.



3. (2.10) "XVIII" - A captured Flint receives aid from an unlikely ally in Charleston. Vane's quartermaster and some of his crew seeks a change. And Silver makes a sacrifice in order to save Flint’s crew.



4. (2.05) "XIII" - Miranda reveals a plan to save Nassau from the Flint/Vane conflict. Black marketeer Eleanor Guthrie opens old wounds between her and Vane when she rescues the hostage he had taken from Low. Flashbacks reveal the incidents that led to the end of Flint’s Royal Navy career as Lieutenant James McGraw.



5. (2.03) "XI" - Flint returns to Nassau to plan the retrieval of the gold. Thanks to Vane and brothel madam Max, the newly Captain Jack Rackham has a crew and restores his reputation with an encounter with a cargo ship at sea. Vane helps Eleanor by confronting Low.
