Below is my ranking of the episodes from the Netflix limited series, "SELF-MADE: INSPIRED BY THE LIFE OF MADAM C.J. WALKER", the recent adaptation of A'Lelia Bundles' 2001 biography, "On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C. J. Walker". The four-part miniseries starred Octavia Spencer as Madam C.J. Walker:

1. (1.02) "Bootstraps" - Former washerwoman Sarah Breedlove Walker aka Madam C.J. Walker's dream of opening a factory for her hair products hinges on securing the support of local Black businessmen and an endorsement from the famous activist, Booker T. Washington.



2. (1.04) "A Credit to Her Race" - In this final episode, the combined blows of a health scare, worker issues and a tragedy that hits close to home pushes Sarah to take decisive action about her life and legacy.



3. (1.03) "The Walker Girl" - Sarah's ambitious plans for expanding her business take her to New York City and lead to both personal and professional betrayals that threaten all she has built.



4. (1.01) "The Fight of the Century" - This opening episode begins in the early 1900s when Sarah hatches a plan to make and sell her own hair products for black women, but faces competition from Addie, her jealous former mentor and employer.
