So, hmm...

I give it maybe 5, at most 7, years before you're driving one?

I've been asked over and over again why I don't just buy one. God knows that the 'vette is not an expensive car. Why don't I just bloody buy one?

It's complicated. I could write an essay on this.

Nah...

...not while I have the Madsen voice of reasonable-ness in my head.

What's your take on the Civic SI? Is that reasonable?

Tough bloody question.

It's something I could be happy with, and not feel guilty owning.

What I want is a 'vette or a Boxster. But I can't buy those without feeling a little guilty. Not sure why.

Buyers remorse. Because that 45-60k could go towards something much less depreciating. It be a nice down payment on a house.

Ain't that the truth.

...and the Elantra isn't exactly falling apart. It's holding together pretty well. No real reason to jump in a Porsche. Maybe later, after I have a house.

Damn this prudence.

I'm going to sleep on the SI/RSX some more though... maybe I can convince myself. Maybe it'll shut my head up :)
