it's somewhat upsetting that they're redoing all the cars.
granted, the original transformers cars are outdated by now

but
they're iconic. and so's the beetle and it's still relevant.
i think it's silly to turn bumblebee into the camaro. someone else, sure. bumblebee? silly.

of course, i *am* nitpicking the transformers movie by calling elements 'silly' so your mileage may vary.

and yes the camaro looks good, but come on, this movie isn't about the *cars*, it's about what's more than meets the eye

LOL

Isn't what this movie is about up to me? I want cars. I'll get cars. Plot may be noticed, but it'll probably be laughable anyway. And robots? From outer space? Sure. Whatever.

New Camaro? Hoo boy.

Did some quick research.

First off, it's heavily implied that VW didn't want to muck about with the beetle. So they canned it. Chevy pro'lly paid for the Camaro to be in there -- it's product placement heaven.

I noted that they had, on set, older, crashed Camaro models. Also, an old completely crashed jeep. I am guessing that the plot includes the xformers getting really beat-up and then re-reforming into the newer models.
