Actually, while I'm paying attention to LJ, lemmie link somethin.

I'm writing a webcomic right now.

I basically had a bit of a collapse in my self-confidence not long ago and I was feeling pretty depressed. Odd as this might sound, writing this comic has brought me right out of that funk. I started it on a bit of a whim, and I never expected to get past three or four pages. After all, I usually lose interest in comics before I ever really get off the ground. But this thing I've gotten 25 pages-- twenty five, guys!!-- and I've barely slowed down. Even if I stopped now, I'm still really proud of how far I've gotten.
Also, it's severely helping my background skills. The characters are all a little simplistic, but I'm really making progress in learning to establish locations and I'm learning a lot about color.

So yeah. I made myself happy again with a shitty Fawful comic.

The next part is, how the hell do I get readership for this? I mean, it's gotten me a lot of new watchers on DA and that's cool, but I'd love to get some more fans on Smackjeeves too, so as to expand my readerbase. I keep seeing comics there with only 5 pages uploaded and 200 followers... how does one do that?!
