Yesterday was a historical moment in SO many ways. It was the first time that a presidential candidate made use of the wonderful media tool called "the internet." It reached many of the young people who have thus far been disillusioned to vote. What it does for a whole race of people who have achieved the highest office in this land is yet to be seen. But I suspect that a lot of self esteem has been raised. I, unfortunately, missed the acceptance and concession (sp?) speeches because I thought it wouldn't be called until the morning. But, from what I heard, there wasn't a dry eye on either side of the screen.
I am another one who missed the real McCain and am glad he is back. Originally, I didn't care which candidate won, but I wouldn't risk Palin getting into office. How they thought she could possibly appeal to we Hilary fans is beyond me. It was a brilliant political move, but couldn't they have found a less extreme Republican? Is there such a thing anymore? I've heard from so many disheartened Republicans who feel that their party has turned . . . . (fill in the blank). Some even abstained from voting.
Sela, those people who are sucking sour grapes right now feel they have lost a lot of power. I am definitely not going to let them steal my joy and relief. We have suffered under this yoke for eight, long years. And the great new is that . . . . the majority of Americans feel the same. (smile)
