Glory.
I have been crying on the phone with my best friend for over an hour. I didn't think it would hit me like this. I was excited about this but the sense of relief that the long dark night is almost over. God, it's been a long agonizing eight years and it's almost over.
My heart is overflowing tonight and in the next few days I will write about it all. There's a lot on my mind and I will share it all but now is not the time. I was up much of last night and will be up the rest of tonight. I'm tired but I can't sleep. I don't want to miss any of it.
To those on my flist who are not celebrating with the rest of the American people for whatever reason I say, give the man a chance. Just wait and let him prove himself. Do your very best to try to reach beyond your disappointments and be open to his leadership.
And a request to my flister in other countries: Would any of you be willing to send me copies of your newspaper from tomorrow with the announcement of the election on the front? I will be happy to pay the postage. I want them from all over. Let me know and I will send you my address.
