So I've only been in the state of Michigan for twelve hours, and already I've slipped back into my sinful American ways with surprising ease. I was forced to abandon my gluttony and sloth...titude? whilst in Spain, but I no sooner woke up this morning than poured myself a glass of Dr Pepper (which fails to exist in Europe! Gods, do something about that please, for my birthday present?) and a bowl of Cinnamon Life, as if I were treated to such delicacies every day when in fact I haven't had breakfast in over a week. I immediately resumed my normal pastimes of procrastination on the homework situation and reading livejournals and emails online, as if I hadn't spent a single day out of this habit. I vaguely noticed that it felt strange to not be sitting on a tour bus, watching the mountains and towns and the Mediterranean Sea fly by outside the window while chatting idly with Jessica, Brittany, Tyler, and Albert at this hour, but it wasn't as if I could amend this feeling of unbalance in the natural order of things, so I shrugged it off. I did an amazing job of avoiding jet lag this time around, and while it may not feel like Sunday, it definitely feels like an odd time of the morning for me to be up on the weekend, which is another good sign that I'll fall rather effortlessly back into real life now that I have to.
So, anyone have any questions about what Spain's like? Anyone have any interest in hearing about my travels? If so, tell me, do!
