Birthday Break Plans
Next Thursday is Martin's birthday, and the following Sunday is mine. I've taken both Thursday and Friday off as vacation days, and we're going to play for four days. Forget Spring Break, this is BIRTHDAY BREAK!!
I've already got some things planned out. We WERE planning to go to a goth/industrial/new wave club on Thursday night, but today I checked out the club's website to find directions, times, etc., and discovered that it will be a karaoke night... Excuse me, there is goth/industrial KARAOKE????? Cancel that, we'll think of something less scary for Thursday!! Maybe the beach, followed by horror movie night? We'll have to discuss it tonight.
Friday (the 13th!!) Martin has a doctor appointment at oh-dark-hundred (8:30am, actually, but on vacation days THAT is a sin). Then we'll do our grocery shopping, as we won't have time on the weekend for such mundane trivia as buying food and toilet paper. However, I'm sure we'll find time in the afternoon for something fun to do.
Saturday is the Tartan Day Scottish Fair at Ardenwood, our local historic farm. There will be Scotts music, dancing, clan booths, historic re-enactments (our Renn Faire guild will be there), and food, of course. Haggis, anyone??? ;-P We shall go in faire garb, but as guests, not as part of the guild, although we'll do some visiting and hanging out, of course. This will give Martin a chance to see how much his shoulder can take of his armor and weapons, and we can leave anytime if it gets too painful.
Then Sunday is the San Jose Fantasy Festival. Martin will probably wear his faire garb again (minus the weapons!), but I shall be a dark gothic faerie, complete with wings! I'm excited, I've never done something like that before. I have part of the outfit figured out, but still need to decide on my top and makeup. Help!!!
