Over the past 2 1/2 days, how many things have I checked off my to-do list? In rough chronological order:
- Made spinach lasagna from Kobukan cookbook - YUM! First time making lasagna. Success!
- Bought jasmine plant for living room. Jasmine plant! Not jade plant! Everyone seems to get this confused (not just you, mom!). Helped distract garden store workers from kid's "fairy party" in the back of the store.
- Washed dogis (desperately, desperately, desperately needed).
- Submitted revised proposal for monster paper on Gisèle Prassinos, André Breton and the femme-enfant/Mélusine, and doubling/transfigured body parts.
- Duct-taped my sideview mirror more securely onto my car, and re-duct-taped that pesky driver's door molding. With the amount of abuse the poor thing looks like it's taken, now really no one's going to want to steal my car.
- Took 3-hour bike ride with friend in beautiful 60-degree sunshine, involving some getting lost and a lot of splashing through mud and/or snow. Brilliant first ride of the season!
- Revised 3-page book synopsis/review.
- Met department friends for sushi happy hour at Fuji Ya. Ate lots of sushi. Proceeded to CC Club... then to friend's house for cheesecake... got home at 4.
- Slept in!
- Read some Balzac. I will finish this damn book in the next 24 hours if it kills me. Only 100 pages to go!!
- Took care of Pashabelly! Scheduled a vet appointment for vaccines, cleaned her water fountain (also in desperate need), and vacuumed/mopped around the litter box.
- Sewed four buttons... which have been sitting in my coat pocket since last March in Paris... back on my trench coat.
- Took the plastic down off my windows! Opened my windows! Felt a breeze through my apartment!
- Wrote notes on the six books on the 18th-century section of my MA reading list, in preparation for our study group meeting next week.
- Finally faced my fear and looked at the comments on one of the papers I'll be revising for the MA. Also entered them into the original Word document for later editing ease. Realized that all those French corrections were really minor details, and that I didn't come off as idiotic as those 6 TYPED PAGES of comments would have made it seem!
- Installed brackets to screw the cat tree into the wall, then doused cat tree with catnip spray so just maybe she won't be so scared to climb on it.
- Tonight: Watching "Tristan + Isolde" with department friends (aka, James Franco + medieval-nerd soirée).
I am patting myself on the back right now. Vacation is great.
