so Max  McGee, who scored the first EVER super bowl touchdown (for the packers, by the way) died. I confess I didn't know too much about him, but after reading the article, I realized that this guy was actually pretty incredible. he played for the packers for a LONG time, only stoping to serve in the military. after playing for the pack he became a sportscaster and co-founded chi-chi's restauraunt (just to name a few things).
anyway, he was 74 years old (I think... maybe 75? I can't remember). cause of death? at that age maybe heart failure? stroke? disease?
nope.
he fell off his roof while blowing leaves off of it.
now  I guess a guy that has that much of a legacy might be embarassed by a death like that.. being known as "that football player who fell off his roof". but on the other hand... not to be morbid, but I always thought that I would like to die at an older age because of some sort of accident like that. not just wasting away in bed. I mean that guy was in his mid 70's, which I know these days is not SUPER old, but still not young, and he's still doing his own work on his house, and taking risks, and stuff like that. I admire that. I do. again, I know this is a little morbid, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on that.

P.S. Jonathan Smoots came to the show today. Sarah and I talked to him both before and after the show. he was super nice.  I have seen him in a million and one plays in the past 10 years, and am a big fan, and think he has one of the best (speaking) voices ever.
I DID NOT RECOGNIZE HIM!!!
it was one of those weird things when your half way through the conversation and its sort of too late to awkwardly make introductions. plus sarah kept mentioning his wife, so I just figured he was just a  husband of the renaissance crew.  so I didn't know it was him until after he left and sarah told me.
AARRGGGGGGG.
