Who: GaIn and Ryo When/Where: Day 18, 7 pm, GaIn's car and the laser tag place. Rating: tba Warning: tbd? (and GaIn) Summary: GaIn calls Ryo for a second date, and they go play laser tag.
Ryo was fixing the lights in ZZYZX when he felt his phone buzzing. He put down some tools, and made sure they weren't going to fall the distance to the floor before he answered.
"Hello?" he answered, not looking at the number, and therefore answering the phone in Japanese. When he was alone for a long time thinking, his brain usually defaulted.
GaIn flicked the ash off the tip of her cigarette as the ringing cut off. She was relieved to hear a familiar voice on the other end of the phone, despite not understanding what it said. Still, though, a phone greeting was a phone greeting, whatever the country. There wasn't that much variation. Probably he just didn't look at the caller ID before answering, which might help explain the response in Japanese. She imagined seeing the Hangul characters of her name on the phone would have prompted a more local answer.
"Hey, Dickweed, its GaIn. And try speaking Korean, please?" She didn't use his name, opting to stick with the nickname to seem a little less intimate, not sure how he'd react to hearing back from her this much later.
Well, it would have been a good idea to think that he had entered her name in Hangul, but he hadn't. He only used the Korean options on his phone for messages. GaIn's name happened to transcribe very well into Japanese, even if the meaning was a little weird.
"Whoa, hey...sorry about that," he said, switching into Korean. He really didn't like speaking in the other language, but maybe his talking to GaIn had made it a little more enjoyable to him. "The nickname....really?" He said, turning back into his normal snarky self.
That might irritate GaIn, when and if she found out, but at the moment she had more important things to think about than the language in which her name was entered on his phone. Like talking to him.
She chuckled at the rapid switch to her own native language, figuring it was probably still a bit difficult and irritating to use, especially if he forgot to use it so easily. "Of course. I much prefer using your name in bed to using it in conversation." She sassed back at him, taking his snarky comments as a good sign that she still had a chance. "So, I was wondering if you wanted to do something..."
