Hahaha...^^;; Poor community we have here... Anyway, it's been so LONG since I've written anything with the original, Takeuchi-made Starlights so today I come bearing a short scene with Yaten! ^^ Most of you probably won't get some bits of it, but I guess it's understandable after taking a look at
rizumikaru_yomi, this multi-fandom RP that
senashenta have jumped into recently.
Hope you enjoy! ^^
It was amazing what being once popular and controversial in show business can do for you. With just a call, speaking in the deeper, more boyish voice her former agent was accustomed with, she was able to secure all control of all active assets the Three Lights had left behind. The documents and arrangements were taken care of quickly and the next thing she knew she had more money than she knew what to do with for life. Next came the old penthouse apartment the Three Lights had lived in. She got that back and everything else followed.
So now she was officially back on Earth. It wasn't official until she had gotten everything together of course. How could she consider herself civilized if she hadn't? It would be called living for her without the comforts and luxury she had gotten used to on her brief stay and during her illustrious yet short career with the Three Lights.
Yes, Yaten Kou is back, though no one beyond her agent and maybe some outer Sailor Senshi new that. Besides, she was still undecided of what to do while she was staying in Earth again.
Well yes, it was decreed that she become Kinmokusei's connection to their Earthian friends and allies. She didn't know why it had to be her though. She wasn't exactly the one who got along the best with the local Sailor Senshi the last time they were there. Then again, that maybe the reason. Maybe their princess had wanted her to expand her horizons... Or something else ridiculous like that. But she was a dutiful Starlight and thus she headed back to Earth to fulfill her duty.
Funny how the next thing she did after amassing fortune and luxury was get a spa treatment. She wouldn't admit it, but it was one guilty pleasure she had acquired while she was on Earth and it was something she sorely missed. Yaten did like being pampered after all. After getting out of the spa, she allowed herself a leisurely walk of the town.
It had been a few years she had been there and she wasn't surprised that the name of Three Lights had been erased from most everyone's musical vocabulary. She was amused by the rumors that circulated after they mysteriously disappeared. Apparently, they had all died in a plane crash or broke up because of "artistic differences" or whatever cockbull the media came up with. She was sure Seiya would have laughed had she heard it. Maybe Taiki would be amused by it too.
It was a rather peaceful walk. No one bothered her for a photo or an autograph. She owed it to the fact that she was a woman at the moment and of course the rumors. In actuality, she looked nothing like the Yaten Kou that the public knew back then. Yaten Kou was never seen in public wearing heels and a short skirt after all, plus Yaten Kou was a man. This silver-haired sprite-like woman could not be Yaten Kou, and she was perfectly fine with that.
She wasn't here for a musical career. She liked singing, she liked performing, but when it was done with her fellow Lights. It would just feel strange somehow if she wasn't singing and playing with them. Almost blasphemous...
"Bass Player Looking for Band Members"
"Join me for Free Will's Battle of the Bands! Contact me at--"
"Need a drummer?"
"Free Will Records is going to be hosting a Battle of the Bands and the winner would get a contract--"
The words continued to buzz in her ears and imprint in her mind wherever she went. It almost annoyed her. Talk about excessive advertising... She didn't even get the big deal, though she supposed she was jaded. She had been there before: trying to be discovered, wanting to get a contract for their message to be heard...
Idly, she remmebered her agent speaking something about that Battle of the Bands too...
"It's an opportunity, Kou-san. Please consider it. If you join in, your name would be known all over Japan again and then there would be more opportunities..."
She had told her agent to be silent then, eyeing him with faint annoyance as she stared him down. She told him to be quiet, that she wasn't interested...
Lime green eyes spotted another one of those ads calling for a band. It was handmade, scrawled down with a marker then reproduced by a copier machine. It was taped to a shop window of a diner. Crude, but the paper it was on was a startling pink that made Yaten think it could catch some attention. How long that attention would last though, no one knew. She smirked almost disdainfully at the thought of herself making such a thing. She was sure it would never happen.
Walking forward again, Yaten Kou pushed all thought of Free Will's Battle of the Bands from her mind as she contemplated what to do next: get a cat or a car.
