this week has been very long-- 5 days of mommying, and lots of activities/errands. today we , lucy & i, "helped the easter bunny" deliver 30 easter baskets to "babies who might be forgotten." my newcomer's club does it every year and it was really an honor to get to deliver the much appreciated goodies :) it was a really nice way to kick off the countdown to easter! we then had a celebratory lunch at a CRAZY crowded panera. i thought it was because we arrived nearly at noon on the nose, but the employees told me it was that way all morning. ack! we scouted and grabbed our table... waited in a VERY long line and ate our delicious lunch. i thought ahead and got lucy a bagel, so she munched it happily and observed the general hubbub.
she also told me, repeatedly as we set ourselves up (getting drinks/food/napkins, highchair etc), " i love you forever mommy." this was very sweet and of course i ate it up with a spoon (especially since it was BEFORE eating so i couldn't credit super desirable food), even it when it was accompanied by her putting her little hands on my neck and squeezing. of course, when this happened i said "that's very nice lucy. mommy loves you forever too, but are you trying to choke me? because choking isn't nice...let's hug, instead?" then of course she thought it was fabulous to try and choke me and say "i love you forever, i love you forever" :) *sigh* hopefully love combined with choking isn't a sign of things to come for her.... i'm going to keep vigilant about disuading that, just to be safe.
This is my tomorrow, if i can keep the energetic enthusiasm for marathon grocery shopping:
wegmans:
corned beef?
yobaby
look at seasonal easter
liquor store (what's that wonderful place called? the one by wegmans):
sparkling wine
creme yvette-- do you have this? will you be getting it? this is what *I* want for easter--- it's violet liquor. oh heavens! :):):) if *my* liquor store won't be getting it i'm going to order it from nyc.
whole foods:
honey roasted peanut butter (2 big containers)
maybe some coffee?
cheddar animal crackers (lu loves these)
organic chicken broth
organic ritz-like crackers (for "lu" but ohmygah YUM)
organic tomatos
floral of some sort...maybe in pots, but probably not since i don't want to kill it before easter!
corned beef?
trader joes:
freeze dried strawberries (lu)
garlic chipolte salsa (possibly their best)
bag of little apples (lu's on a kick)
YOGURT (the fatty kind, again, lu)
whole grain & blueberry waffles
goat cheese
cinnamon bread (holy cats this stuff is the YUM)
maybe i'll do whole foods first-- it's the most irksomely crowded if you go too late. i'm hoping to leave early enough to avoid that and be home for lunch. i didn't have a plan for sunday, but i just heard a bunch of buzz about target having a new line of housewares/clothes(including kids!!!!)/etc. that's a collab with liberty of london. if the online previews are any indication- it's pretty cute stuff. at the least i see a tiered tray in my future and yet another, swimming suit in lucy's :) probably little dresses too. and maybe rainboots. we'll see.
now it's time to wake up little miss so and so, so she isn't still awake when her daddy gets home late tonight. yuck. see what i mean-- long week! :) i'm spoiled darnit!
