This is happy lucy. she's climbed into this very pink, and very beat up laundry basket. what a happy girl!
yesterday, i organized a tea outing with my local, mommy friends. it was lovely and everyone commented on how it was such a nice time. i was feeling quite heady about my social success until i got home and dan's first words to me were "lucy threw up." nice. a fever followed and today lucy had a fever all day. she woke up at 7:30...this sounds great but scared the crud out of both mommy & daddy. did she throw up again and choke on her own vomit? crazy ideas like that woke me up.
then lucy was cuddling/snoozing with mommy again by quarter to nine. poor baby :( then she was snoozing from 12-3pm and then back down again by 7:15pm. poor baby. for about 45 minutes, we watched a dvd of beatrice potter stories. lucy also tried to have a popsicle, i think she might have prefered a fruit pop-- i might try that tomorrow if she's still sicky.
btw- i highly recommend the beatrice potter dvd. it's in the easter section of target with all the easter themed wee gifties for kiddos. i've looked at it a couple times and deemed it "too old" or "silly" but today when i was picking up pen needles to inject insulin, i was worrying over napping lucy and felt indulgent. since yesterday daddy was growing weary of neverending book reading, i thought "this will give everyone a rest."
how twee the whole thing was i can't say, because i've only seen one of the three stories...but --it has real animals ! and cute beatrice potter inspired animation! bunnies! ducks! geese! mice! a porcupine! nice production all around. dan was pretty sure i enjoyed it more than lucy, but she sat cozy and watched....so yeah, best 8 dollars ever spent. (i spent nearly 6 on popsicles and they weren't successful at all!)
lucy & mommy are getting ready for a big trip. tomorrow is lucy's "well baby" 15 month appointment. well, we're calling first thing in the morning to ask them for an early appt for a SICK baby. *sigh* all i know about tomorrow is , LUCY WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY SHOTS. i'm going to postpone that even if they say it's okay. i'm hoping we'll be okay to fly and that i'll have my act together to not forget my clothes or lucy's whatever.
having a sick baby is really tough...she just worries the stuffings out of me :( poor little lucy :(:(:( off to check on her laundry/diapers and get myself to bed. we have a LONG day tomorrow!
