Yesterday was devoted to fleshing out ideas for JB's logo - actually reworking some earlier ideas using some of her feedback. When I need to set a frenetic workpace, I listen to The Jam. Even their R&B-inspired stuff (foreshadowing The Style Council) tweaks me into a productive frenzy. I always double-loop "Funeral Pyre", my favorite Jam song. ( Read more... )

Last night I fixed cod in lemon and butter. Of the four pieces, two came out...chewy. Chewy cod? The other two were flaky and exactly the right texture. Huh. Our class this semester seems like it has a lot of very talented, engaged designers, and it's great to see people actually interested in the process. I shared my podcast info with the class, and I think I've turned a lot of people on to some very valuable (if hidden) references.
