Drove out to Morton Grove to have a lunch meeting with JB about her website, and it was very, very helpful. I showed her three different possible design directions, and she admitted that she had a hard time picking - she loved all three! We decided to go with something more classical so that we can use the old tarocchi images. It'll require a bit of logo rework, but it looks like it will work really well.
She showed me some of the pictures and memorabilia she's collected during her career, including a few personal letters from Piers Anthony. She has them all bound in a scrapbook, but I suggested that she find some archival material to preserve them, *and* that we scan the more interesting ones for inclusion in her site. She also has two clients that she's given my card to - she wants to get me more business, and I am ecstatic at the prospect.
I also got more backstory on some of the Pagan bigwigs. Oh...frickin'...my. The intrigue, some of which I knew about, is thick. I had to curb my tongue when some names were mentioned out of respect for her relationship with people. She took out an album of PSGs past, and there were a few of my
drubear as well as a young, beardless Isaac with Deb, a younger Ian, Sue, Matt (Phoenix Brotherhood) and Skip. A few other luminaries were there, among them Larry Wachowski and his wife, the Frosts and Selene. Once the website is finished, we plan on getting all her photos scanned, labeled and posted to her galleries.
We finished up about 3pm, and I drove back into the city. The Edens was, as is usual at ANY time of day, jammed. I stopped by the yuppie Dominick's for a few items, then headed home to type up my notes. I have to travel tomorrow to renew the residential parking sticker. I emailed the new landlords to see if we could use one slot in the garage for parking Kermit - no go. They promised it to the new tenants who move in on the 15th. After living here for a kajillion years, it would've been nice to be asked. The new tenants each have a car, it seems. I'm loving winter already.
Independence Day kinda snuck up on us. Chris has the day off, but we don't have plans of any kind. Tomorrow night is Homolatte at Big Chick's, and we were thinking of seeing if R&J would want to go hear Jeffinthebox perform. Other than that, it should be fairly quiet. Since the 4th is in the middle of the week, I doubt it would be worth it to make big plans.
