Last night's GLBT Meetup went well. I set out for the Loop about 6:20pm, and met
drubear outside the DePaul Center B&N shortly before the meeting. As we were ordering drinks, we met up with Dan, the Meetup coordinator who recognized Chris from his pic. We sat down and started chatting, then another couple, Dan and Marty, showed up. Nice bunch of guys, and I think it convinced Chris that doing the Druid Meetup is very doable.
The Chess Meetup takes place at the Mercury Cafe, about a block west of the Intuit Outsider Gallery on Chicago. Chris checked out their site, and it looks like a good place to hold the Druid Meetup. We're thinking of checking out the place this weekend. With over 80 people stating some interest in Druidry in Chicago, I'm hopeful we'll have a good turnout. One of these days I'll work up the courage to attend the Graphic Designers Meetup.
I worked on layouts yesterday afternoon as a storm brewed. While I was on the deck, I heard THE LARGEST THUNDERCLAP I've ever heard. It was so loud that it echoed off the buildings in the Loop. Honestly, I thought it was an explosion.
dreigiau_tywyll and I are going to meet for coffee this afternoon once she's done with babysitting. I think we Logan Squarites need to take more advantage of our close proximity more often - hell, half the grove lives within three short blocks of each other! I'm thinking she and I should collaborate on something artistic -- Chris even suggested that she and I take a pottery class together, and make some new ritual tools for the Grove! How cool would that be?!
