updates and cupcakes
well here i am.. had visitors all last week at the house until friday.. it was weird because when they left it seemed as if days had gone by since they had been there. For me at least... friday i had a rough one at work. But got through it like always.. just listening and having to put up with someone's antics and behavior that is uncalled for.. Someone that is obviously letting their demons in life take over and then pointing out some sort of "fault" towards everyone else around him.. fuckin lame shit... Made it through the day and ended up at mother's market for a dinner by my lonesome.. Ate a wonderful tofu cutlet with a lemon sauce.. steamed veggies and mashed potatoes.. a cup of "chicken" soup and a big piece of bread with jelly.
Went from there to the RVCA art show, I was pretty bummed out about my day at work and was kind of double thinking the whole thought of even showing up to that party.. But I got there and was enthralled at what art was actually there. Walking around there simply brought to my attention that creativity lies way deeper than skin deep. Just made me happy that working in the industry that I do even will allow such creativity out and allow it to be exposed to a greater scale than just "keep it to yourself." Works done by Ed Templeton, Deanna Templeton, Neckface, bigfoot, Russ Pope and many others were subject to the viewers discretion. I loved it. Ate alot of free carrots and celery from the banguet tables and realized that there were far too many hipsters there than needed. I forgot how simply "molded" such people are. I would think that many of those kids trying to be individuals would have done a bit more than fight for the same dress style and same antics and behavior.. But eh, maybe thats expecting too much.
Skated the bowl for a few hours then decided it was time to mosey on home. Hopped my trusty beach cruiser and started on a 23 mile trek home (after going around and hitting up a few dumpsters for goodies of course) Got back to long beach and hit up the wild oats dumpster figuring I had been left wanting to at least come home with something. To my surprise and pleasure I found a bunch of apples, potatoes, and onions.. Grabbed a few of each and rode my bike on home.
Came home to a party, walked in all sweaty from my trek and laid on teh couch for a bit to catch my breath. Got up and started being hyper and such and looking for food. Ended up getting naked with about 6 other dudes and sprinted around the block. I was the first to get naked since there was that "oh man we're in our undies, should we get naked?" I could give a fuck.. so off we went.. I was smart enough to actually be wearing shoes at this point.. and since my legs had been under so much stress and exhaustion already they decided to start to cramp up when i got around the 3rd corner of the block. Got back int eh house and took a shower. It was nice..
Saturday didn't do much but go to Vegan Terra, and do laundry. Ended up wanting to go to the strife show and it didn't happen so I went to the FM Bats and Chinese Star show. IT was awesome, FM bats I could have done without. And of course the whole room in Koos was filled with once again. HIPSTERS!!!... The FM bats were more of a bunch of intros not really building up to much. So I left the room half way through the set. But damn, Chinese stars was definately worth the time and effor to watch. Fucking amazing band and plenty of dancing to be had.
Met up with this girl Dre, who was selling merch for the chinese curse.. talked of bullshit touring and sharing dumb stories for a bit.. Said my goodbyes and took off back on home. Sat here and did nothing then passed out. I went to bed fairly early, but still managed to sleep until fuckin noon today. I HATE sleeping that late.. So i've been up and not done much. Showered and shaved.. and started to put away laundry. But I find myself sitting here online once again. Whoopty doo for me...
WEll tomorrow will be back at work, I was going to try and go to vegas this next weekend but there's the graf orlock, 7 gen, fortunate son, make move and a bunch of others playing.. so I guess that will be post poned till another available weekend. We'll see what happens haha..
