So, it's been a while...a long while, since I've updated. A lot's gone on in that time, but I can't honestly complain about much. Things have been going pretty well. The occasional random drama must occur to keep some kind of tension in my life, but most seem to solve themselves. The only long-term disturbance is Samantha, who is currently in Alternative School, until sometime in January, for drug and weapon possession charges.
To those whom I've pretty much blown off in the past six months or so, or said I would accomplish or send something, yet have not lived up to, I apologize from the bottom of me heart. While most of the events in my life lately have not involved too much drama, I have been kept incredibly busy, more so than in the past couple of years combined. Once again, I apologize, and most of those will be taken care of within the next two weeks or so.
There was a big seminar at my studio Saturday, which I wasn't able to attend, on pressure points, grabs, and other such cool things. So I return to the studio on Tuesday, and commence playing ginuea pig for those who did learn the techniques, and eventually manage to catch on to most of them. Then we being wrestling. I don't mean tv style, I mean backyard smackdown with your brother kind of wrestling, trying your damnedest not to get pinned and trying to pin the other person first. I had my tail whipped. Badly. I may have won a fourth or a fifth of my matches. But it was so much fun. We really need to do that again soon, because it let off most of the tension and energy that had been building all the previous week. So much fun. And mom seemed most highly amused when I went flying through the air as Mr. Ward tossed me around like a damned rag doll. Can't really disagree with her either.
This past weekend(19,20,21) I went with my biology class to Skidaway Island, one of the little barrier islands off the coast of GA. It's a really important estuary, one of the most populated(non-human) areas on the southeastern coast. We had several invertibrate and fish labs...those were fairly cool, but identifying little wiggling dots in a microscope isn't exactly my cup of tea. We went trawling out in the estuary, and were the only people with permits to do so. We caught 12 varieties of fish, 3 each of shrimp, crabs, and squid, and several varieties of plant life. T'was quite interesting, very fun. One of the squid inked on me...took two days to come off. Didn't like beheading the shrimp, though.... All in all it was a lot of fun, I learned a lot. My roomies were quite interesting...6 girls in two rooms with 7 bunks....5 of us were band nerds that hang together a lot...all of us completely nuts...not much sleep was gotten. Funfun. So much. TROGDOR!!!!
I was in my first tournament the day before Halloween. Just a small, in-studio tournament, not a whole lot of people. I was a coach for some of the kids classes, helped keep things running smoothly in the morning. My age group competed right after lunch. I won gold in both forms and sparring, but there were only three people in my division, and Bree was the only other one who I think was truly ready for the tournament. It was fun, and definitely a good learning experience.
I've had project upon project at school, some fun, others not, but all needing my immediate attention, with no computer at my disposal since mine has been down for three months because of a spyware screwup.
Well, I've got to get back to making the 100 hamburgers for tomorrow's family reunion. I'll see ya'll later.
