I love reading Yumeko's blog (
A Dream of Tokyo) and recently, she has a photo meme every Friday. I have always read hers and Iris's (
Rouge Deluxe) photo meme posts but did not take part cos I was so caught up with my new job.
Now that I have settled down more, I can start blogging more again!
This is last Friday's photo meme theme -- All Star (Makeup) Edition!
1. The Super Star -- Something you have used for over a year and will still be using
Clockwise from left:
1. Jill Stuart mix blush compact -- I bought this in Taipei last May and can you see how much I love it? I've hit pan (see that tiny bit of silver) and when I visited Taipei in April this year, I bought another one. The blusher is pigmented and has such a lovely scent. The packaging is also sooo romantic & girly. I believe there will be more Jill Stuart blushers joining my collection in future!
2. Lancome Teint Miracle -- I started using this in September 2011 so technically it's only ALMOST a year but this bottle changed my perception of foundation. Before this, i don't own any liquid foundation but this is so lightweight and blends so beautifully into my skin!
3. Shu Uemura UV under base mousse -- I started with the pink and recently, i added the beige. It has SPF30/PA+++ and so it's fabulous on weekends when i want to feel like i'm not wearing makeup. It's a must for me when i travel cos i don't have to pack a face sunscreen along. :)
4. Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion -- This is so famous i don't have to introduce it. This is actually my 2nd tube and i like how creamy it is and how well my eye makeup stays on throughout the day.
2. The Fast Rising Star -- Something you have used for over 6 months and will still be using
Top to bottom:
1. Urban Decay Naked 2 -- This palette of mostly cool beige/brown/greige shades is one i reach for very often nowadays. Beautiful to blend & so versatile.
2. Clinique chubby stick moisturizing lip colour balm -- This actually applies sheer (like jelly shades) & is indeed rather moisturizing for my perpetually dry lips.
3. Hada-Labo BB Moist Cream -- It has SPF32/ PA+++, is a breeze to blend and matches my NC-15 skin tone very well. No yucky scent either. One of my fave BB creams.
3. The Number 1 Draft Pick -- Something you just started using and am loving it.
Clockwise (from top left):
1. Revlon lip butter -- I actually own 2 and both shades are not available in SG. My cabin crew friend CP these for me when she was in the States and i love them. Pigmented AND moisturizing!
2. Rimmel London Kate Moss lipstick -- The one shown is #16 which is a pretty peach-pink that perks up my fair complexion. It's pigmented and not too dry, plus the matte black tube packaging is chic. I love it so much I recently ordered 3 more online.
3. Lancome maqui blanc miracle compact -- Bought this in Taipei when i visited in April. Love the super fine powder and how it doesn't cake up or oxidise on me. Plus it really makes my skin look (almost) flawless. I use this whenever i'm rushing (which is almost every weekday morning) cos it's so easy to apply!
3. L'oreal Infaillible eye shadows -- I currently own 6 but the collection started very innocently with only Goldmine and then i added a few more. Innocent Turquoise & Sassy Marshmallow were just purchased yesterday. :p
4. The FAIL -- Something you tried recently and does not work for you.
1. NYX Gloss -- I have really sensitive lips and this made my lips sting despite layering some balm below. :( Lovely shade of red though.
2. POP Beauty glitz blitz eyeliner -- EPIC FAIL. It's incrediblly hard and i have to press so hard to line my eyes that my eyelids hurt. After taking that photo, i tossed it into the rubbish bin.
5. The Experiment -- Something you bought and am going to try next.
Clockwise (from left):
1. Clio Gelpresso waterproof pencil gel liner -- Lots of raves so i ordered 1 from Gmarket.
2. Cover Girl lash blast volume mascara -- Again, read raves and so that same friend helped to CP this from the States. Will try it very soon cos it has been sitting in my drawer for too long!
3. Dejavu lasting fine eye liner (brown) -- I'm currently using a black version and i like it enough. Since my brown liner (Pixi silky endless) is almost completed, i purchased this to try out.
