That's pretty much the topic on most people's minds nowadays. Be it chit chat with colleagues, news coverage, FB wall posts or even blogs.
I don't know much about politics...i know the bare minimum.
All i know is that my GRC ward of AMK is contested -- PAP vs RP.
'm pretty sure how i'll vote cos i know for sure that one party won't be able to deliver what it has promised. I applaud RP's courage for stepping up to contest again the PM but i seriously wonder if the opposition parties (all who are contesting in the GE) are making empty promises too.
It's a bit like assessing a person during an interview ain't it? Would you take a fresh grad (i.e. no experience in running the business) or would you hire the more experienced guy (i.e. some work experience in the job scope)? Both offer benefits -- fresh perspectives, younger, more vocal etc... proven track record, traditional, wide networking etc.
For those of you living in areas where worthy opposition parties are contesting the PAP, choose & vote wisely. Attend all the rallies, listen to both parties, read the manifestos, question whether the promises can be delivered within the next 5 years and then make up your mind.
I wish there was a more worthy opponent contesting the 5 seats in AMK so i can do all those mentioned above.
This is an exciting GE for Singapore and i'm glad!
