George R. R. Martin's A Dance With Dragons appeared on my Kindle today! I somehow didn't think it would ever actually come out.

As the title says, I've been reading this book about teaching, and the psychology and spirituality of teaching as more than just a job. When you're reading a series of books on the Kindle, it really sucks to discover that books, say, 1-10 and number 12 of a series of 12 are available on Kindle (dear John Maddox Roberts, please talk to your publisher about this, it's ridiculous to have only book 11 that I can't get). After hearing about my students' deaths, my mother said "screw it" and gave me my 30th (ack!) birthday present early.

She got me a Kindle.

Books are awesome. And while I will never be one of those to give up the paper variety, it's great to be able to have access to many of them with a touch of a button.
