Next IFL class is the end of the ASL unit. It's a shame, it's one of my favorite units, but at the same time I'll be glad to see it go, because I've come to the conclusion that I will never be able to be fluent in any way in ASL, because after signing for about a half hour, my wrists and fingers hurt like all holy hell and my joints start to swell to a point where they turn purple.
But d00d, language. ASL is so beautifully expressive and so elegantly structured. I love it. Want learn more. Right now.
Ah, well, at least when we leave ASL behind, we get to move on to Japanese!
...I just realized that I now have only three weeks to prepare the Arabic unit I'm teaching for the first time. AAAAAAAAGH what if I screw it up relations between Latin students and Arabic students are already bad for so many stupid reasons I can't do anything about and if I screw this up I could end up in serious trouble aaaaaaaaagh.
Okay. Breathing. I know I can do this, I just needed to have a momentary freakout there.
