High School Meme!
1. Did you date someone from your school? Um, yes.
2. Did you marry someone from your high school? Yep, I married thespooniest.
3. Did you car pool to school? Yes, with someone who lived about a block away. Not really a friend, but not a bad guy. Our parents took turns driving us.
4. What kind of car did you have? None. I didn't learn to drive until after graduating high school.
5. What kind of car do you have now? Scion xB. The little boxy one.
6. It's Friday night...where are you? (then): Probably either a)at home studying for classes, b)at home studying for Latin competitions, c)at home reading science fiction, or d)hanging out with thespooniest.
7. It is Friday night...where are you? (now): Probably at home hanging out with thespooniest. Or possibly asleep.
8. What kind of job did you have in high school? None. My parents believed I should be studying, and made sure I did it.
9. What kind of job do you do now? Latin teacher, secondary and undergraduate.
10. Were you a party animal? Um, no.
11. Were you considered a flirt? I got a reputation for it just because I was more comfortable hanging around guys than I was around other girls, because of the interests I had.
12. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Choir, my senior year. I usually had to give up my electives in order to take two languages at a time (Latin and French).
13. Were you a nerd? Oh yes! And proudly so.
14. Did you get suspended or expelled? No, though I came close once for slapping a guy who stuck his hand down my skirt. Fortunately, the administrator who saw me slap the guy also saw what caused it.
15. Can you sing the fight song? See, this is one of the reasons I loved high school: we didn't have one. :)
16. Who was/were your favorite teacher/s? Mr. K, my Algebra II teacher, was probably the best teacher I've ever had. That was the only time I ever loved math or anything related to math. And of course Mrs. C and Mr. H, my Latin teachers - if not for them, I would not be who I am today.
17. Where did you sit during lunch? In the Latin classroom, with the others who hated the cafeteria. :)
18. What was your school's full name? Flint Hill School.
19. When did you graduate? June of 1998.
20. What was your school mascot? Huskies!
21. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No. I actually enjoyed high school, but no - I did it, I'm happy with the way I did it, and I don't feel any reason to try to change it, so no real need to.
22. Did you have fun at Prom? I did indeed, all three times.
23. Do you still talk to the person you went to Prom with? I should hope so - I married him, after all. :)
24. Are you planning on going to your next reunion? If they would do me the favor of scheduling the thing when I'm not out of town or something, yes.
