My wrist still hurts, and it still looks bruised, but I don't have to wear a splint that keeps me from typing anymore. But, I may not be returning from the dead yet, because I have come down with what started out as laryngitis and rapidly turned into the worst respiratory illness I've ever had. I now have a bilateral sinus infection, an ear infection in both ears, pharyngitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, and there is fluid in my lungs (though my doctor says I don't yet have pneumonia, she says I need to be really careful). One result of this is that I have little to no speaking voice right now. If you call me, I'll talk if I can without either a)falling over, or b)rendering myself unable to breathe.
I'm sure I'll be fine. But right now, I am too sick to really keep sight of that. And I'm really annoyed at my insurance company for keeping me from getting some of the medications I need until this afternoon (I got the prescriptions, and started trying to get the medications, on Wednesday).
I slept pretty much all day today, just getting out of bed for meals, and I think I should go back to bed.
Like I said, I'm pretty much sure on an intellectual level that I'll be fine. But every time I get really sick and have trouble getting better, I wonder to myself, will this be the next one that hangs on for years.
