Yay yay yay yay yay yay!!!
I just finished taking my first exam and I think I did pretty damn well on it! Wrote about whether or not Booker T. Washington was an apologist to racism and if his importance in maintaining national prominence hurt black rights. Yes, yes he did indeed. Not that he was a bad person or anything, he helped thousands of young black boys and girls recieve an education and training in a trade, but he also ignored the other side of black politics and that is getting equal rights. I could go on and on, but I don't want to bore you guys who are actually reading this. One more exam on Friday for history and then I'M DONE!!!! Just travelling and having fun until I get back hom. I'm going to the opera on June 1st (The Magic Flute by Mozart), going up to Sheffield with Megan to Gemma's house from June 4-7, back down to Swansea for the summer ball on June 10th, going to Cornwall to visit Immy with Megan (Brad--Immy's boyfriend is gonna take us down) for a few days, then off to Europe for the rest of the month. Barcelona, Paris, Venice, Florence, and Rome!!!! Woo hoo!!!! I'm so excited! I got my railpass, bought all my plane tickets, and everything! Okay, I have yet to pack and book hostels, but still...
I have a buttload to pay in library fines today. Probably 3 or 4 pounds. Stupid fines. Go away!
I may get my ears pierced--please talk me out of it; make me see the foolishness of doing such a thing!
I have to find time to say goodbye for Leighton and Dr. Thacker this week. :)
Oh yeah, and I finally had a whole pint of Guinness on Saturday night! Megan, Gemma, Helen, Immy, and I went down to the carvery for pudding and a pint. I had a glass of Pimms (A Pitcher Full of Pure Sunshine)--it's some kind of drink with Pimm's spirit, something sparkly, and lots of lemon and orange segments. I had the most delicious treacle sponge pudding, but as I drowned it in too much cream (ooooohhhh, sooo good!) I couldn't finish it. I must've had at least a cup of cream! The Guinness took me two hours to drink (bitter!) but I did it! Photo finish, will show when I get back! I also took to being a scavenger and picked through Megan and Immy's leftovers (they had a Carvery dinner AFTER puddings and drinks) like a vulture.
I can't wait to see everyone again! And Mel--I'm sending your gift today. Please give me Vee's addy as she hasn't gotten back to me. I dunno where she wants it sent!
