i think you're too sad and angry all too often, and not to sound like some horribly blinded optimist, but you could use a bit of cheer. i can't complain, though, because YOU don't complain; i can name handfuls upon handfuls of people who just whine and whine, "god i'm so depressed. i need my happy pills. god the world sucks. wah, wah," but you don't. you're pretty self-sufficient and obviously more than content to keep to yourself unless something is REALLY bothering you. what i mean to say, and what i can't think of a better way to phrase, is that you realize how stupid it is to whine and bring other people down with your problems. if you want to share what's going on, you will; if not, i won't pry. that's your business. (i'm rambling; i'd better stop now.)

good things? there are plenty of them. you're intelligent, strong and capable. you don't compromise your opinion, yet you're not overly opinionated. you're easy to talk to and to be around. you're friendly and caring and nowhere near as bad as you make yourself out to be, trust me. there are so many reasons to consider you a friend. you just need to be less afraid to let people get closer to you. are you afraid they won't like you? (oh god cliché.) if they don't, fuck 'em. you don't need people like that.

It's not that I'm afraid they won't like me. I'm not sure what it is, really, but I do know it's not that. Thank you for your words. I guess I'm just trying to prove myself wrong with all of this... It seems to be working.
