It’s a good day.
It’s still too early for anything even after Sehun and Jongin have had their breakfast together. They decided to go back to bed and cuddle in the cold breezy morning, as Sehun has requested.
It’s been quite a while since they’ve done this together. Jongin’s a little busy with work and Sehun is the same. It’s not like they’ve never had time for themselves anymore, because they do. No matter how little the free time they could get is, they still manage to dedicate it to each other. But today is a special day. No work, no stress, just the two of them together.
Sehun moves from the bed and bends over as he takes out something from under their bed. Jongin watches him curiously as Sehun crawls back to the spot beside Jongin, holding what seems to be a scrapbook.
Jongin chuckles lightly as he opens his arms wide for Sehun as an invitation to his embrace.
Patches of pink tint Sehun’s cheeks while he sits comfortably right in front of Jongin, resting his back against his chest. Jongin envelops him in his embrace almost instantly. His hands lock securely around his waist while he rests his chin on his shoulder and waits for Sehun to do something.
Sehun suddenly feels nervous but the gentle press of Jongin’s lips on his neck gives him an encouragement. He inhales deeply and starts to untie the yellow ribbon on the personalized scrapbook.
He flips open the cover and he feels himself blush again. There are bold letters on the front page that read,

It’s accompanied by a picture of them together. Beneath it is a small writing of the date it was taken.
“Remember this?” Sehun asks as he traces the picture with his finger. “This was during our first day in college.”
“Our first “date” in the university.” Jongin answers, reminiscing with Sehun. A small smile appears on Sehun’s face as he recalls the memory.
“Yeah.” Sehun nods. “You said you want to go around the university holding my hand so everyone would know that I’m-“
“Taken. Of course.” Jongin blushes this time as he remembers his younger self. How jealous he is when it comes to Sehun and how they almost always get into little fights because of his possessiveness. He smiles at the thought.
Sehun shakes his head and flips to the next page.

“How about this?”
Jongin leans in closer and Sehun is even more slumped against Jongin as the other stares at the photo.
“Back in high school. We spend a lot of time together, don’t we?” Jongin sighs contentedly.
Sehun hums in response. “Ever since, we’re always together. This is just one of those simple, memorable days with you.”
“Yup. Even sharing a drink.” Jongin laughs. “I remember we went to the movies after that. See, I remember?”
“But you hated that movie.” Sehun sticks out his tongue at him.
“That’s probably why I remembered.” Jongin says jokingly before turning to the next page himself.

“Ugh.” Jongin buries his face in the crook of Sehun’s neck the moment he sees the next page. The other lets out a giggle.
“I believe you remember this vividly.” He pats Jongin’s head softly. “That one summer we visited the charity with the kids and helped make toys for them.”
“That one was chaotic.” Jongin grumbles on Sehun’s shoulder before he looks up again and placing his head on his shoulder once more.
“You were really cute when you can’t finish even one stuffed animal.” Sehun giggles even more.
“And the kids kept on teasing me.” Jongin pouts, earning a subtle kiss from Sehun.
“But it was okay because you made them happy when you initiated to play tag instead.” Sehun points it out with a pleasant smile. “We quickly abandoned Mr. Dinosaur.”
“Because it was really hard to make him.” The other reasons out and Sehun just agrees and flips to the next.

Sehun sighs and gives Jongin a look. Jongin grins at him.
“I remember this!” He exclaims. “That day on the first week of our second year in college.”
“Yeah.” Sehun answers sullenly, his mind darting back to that memory.
Jongin laughs. “You didn’t want to wear the couple tee with me. You kept nagging me if you can change into something else.” He ends with another laugh.
“Because we look silly!”
“We look like a really cute couple, not silly.” Jongin counters. “I don’t know why you dislike couple stuff. We even have couple phones back then.”
“Thanks to you.” Sehun scrunches up his nose and motions to change the page.
“Wait.” Jongin stops him and admires the photo a little longer before he allows Sehun to flip to the next page.

“Aww.” It’s time for Sehun to do the mocking. “Look at you, little puppy.”
“Hey, I didn’t know a picture like this exists.” Jongin protests.
“It’s because you were sleeping that time.” Sehun flicks on Jongin’s forehead before turning back to look at the photo. He clearly remembers that night in their apartment. When Jongin is too tired from his training and he asks if Sehun can read him a story. They cuddle in the sofa together while Sehun tells him a story to help him relax. It’s been their second year living together in college and he knows all of Jongin’s soft spots.
The smile on Sehun’s face broadens at the memory of Jongin falling silent beside him in the middle of the story. He, then, heard his soft snores travel to his ears in a calming rhythm. A time Sehun likes to observe Jongin’s features. When he’s unconscious and all his guards are down.
“You look like a baby.” He teases.
“I’ve always looked gentle and cute.” Jongin agrees confidently. Sehun scoffs.
“And you act like a kid, too.”
“Not all the time!” Jongin whines and Sehun just has to raise his eyebrow to make a point.

Sehun feels Jongin’s hands wrap tighter around him and he lets him. His heartbeat quickens on the spot.
“We learned boxing together.” Jongin tells the story this time. “Wow Sehun, I didn’t notice we’ve done so much things together.”
The other nods. “We look so happy here.”
“Until now, we do.”

“Hmm, back to high school?” Jongin traces the photo with his fingers. “This was during Christmas break. When we were parting ways with Chanyeol.”
Sehun leans his head on Jongin’s and sighs. “I miss Chanyeol. We haven’t really kept in touch after high school.”
“I know.” Jongin rubs a random part of Sehun’s tummy unconsciously as his mind wanders to Chanyeol, their close friend. “That kid’s really ambitious. I’m sure he’s doing great in Japan.”
“Do you still remember how we were dubbed as the three towers?”
“I do. And how Chanyeol is always labelled the third wheel.” Jongin snorts. “Ugh, I miss that kid.”
“We should check up on him one of these days.”
Jongin nods and kisses Sehun’s shoulder absentmindedly.

“Like I said. Baby.” Sehun speaks as if it’s the statement of the year.
“You purposely put cute pictures of me.” Jongin complains childishly making Sehun pinch his cheeks.
“You were really cute when I was braiding your hair, so I put it here. One of my memorable moments with you.” Sehun explains , unconsciously fixing the photo on the page. There are a lot of photos of them together that he considers memorable, but this one is one of those unforgettable moments. Even though how simple it is, it gives him the feeling of having simple love with Jongin. Not an easy love, but simple. And beautiful.
“Please let me braid your hair once more.” Sehun pleads while Jongin turns to the next page without answering him. He chuckles to himself when Sehun pouts.

“This was just last year.”
“Yep. One of the most memorable events of my life ever.” Sehun feels a squirm in his stomach, as if he’s back to that day.
“That day when nothing seemed to have gone right.” Jongin sighs and takes both of Sehun’s hands into his. “All my plans were ruined. It even rained. And we have to walk a long distance to get back to the car because I forgot my wallet and we weren’t able to dine in that fine restaurant.”
Jongin sighs again and closes his eyes.
“But that day ended right.” Sehun reminds him. “It ended in the way I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I was the happiest person back then.”
“I disagree.” Jongin crosses his arms over Sehun’s waist, his hands are both curled into his. “I was the happiest person that day.”
Sehun turns his head to the side and gives Jongin an affectionate smile. “We were both the happiest. If not for that day, we wouldn’t have made any other memories we’ve had together. We wouldn’t have been here now.”
Jongin brings Sehun’s knuckles close to his lips and kisses them one by one.
The next page doesn’t have a photo in it. But a drawing.

Sehun feels a lot of emotions seep in the moment he sees the sketch of that meeting on the 12th of January 2011.
“Did you… draw this?” Jongin runs his thumb on the smooth surface. He, too, feels hundreds of emotions as he looks at it. A genuine smile escapes his lips.
Sehun falls silent as he stares at the sequence of the drawings.
He feels Jongin press another kiss on the skin of his neck. “Our first meeting.”
Sehun nods, his eyes suddenly clouded by little tears.
“It’s been 7 years.” Jongin recalls. The first time he met Sehun. It was Spring but the heat of the sun was too hot for him to handle. He remembers it was a time he was waiting at the bus stop. He knew no one from school back then. He was a little quiet and aloof.
“You approached me, even though you don’t know me. The wind blew so suddenly when you came. As if you were with the wind.” Jongin looks at Sehun’s eyes lovingly. “Now I get it. It was fate whispering to me that I finally met my match.
“The one whom I’ll spent the rest of my years with.”
Something glistens in Sehun’s eyes and without warning, a trickle of tear rolls silently on his cheek. Jongin reaches to wipe away the tears. He places a chaste kiss on his lips.
“We didn’t have a photo of that meeting. But instead you drew it based on your memory.” Jongin says as he stares him in the eyes. “I wouldn’t forget about it either. Thank you, Sehun.”
Sehun smiles behind the tears before his breath hitches twice, and Jongin chuckles at him. Sehun exhales and shakes his head.
“There’s more.” He hastily flips the page.

Sehun is still flustered from his previous breakdown when he reveals the next page. His blush deepens when he realizes it’s that photo. Their memorable night together. How his body fit accurately into his. Like they belong with each other.
“This was right after our-“
“Yeah.” Sehun cuts Jongin and he smiles sheepishly at him.
Jongin sways Sehun from side to side as they both recall that night. They were finally each other’s. Officially each other’s. And they have each other for the rest of their life.
“A very memorable one, indeed.” Jongin speaks almost lost in thought. He feels Sehun lean back to him and they cherish the memory together.
“It’s the last page next.” Sehun sits up again and prepares to reveal the last photo that belongs to his most memorable moments with Jongin.
Jongin anticipates it. He already has a feeling what it would be anyway. The root of it all.

Jongin sighs contentedly.
The day they tied the knot.
Sehun faces Jongin with bright eyes.
“Happy anniversary, Jongin.”
Jongin leans in closer and rests his forehead against his. “Happy anniversary, Sehun. I love you.”
“Let’s create more memories for the next years.” Sehun says as he closes his eyes. “I love you too.”
Jongin cups Sehun’s face and brings it closer to his. “For the next hundred years.” He laughs.
He bends forward and tilts his head until their lips meet. It’s now a promise.
Sehun smiles against the kiss.
It’s, indeed, a good day.
