A/N: I’m still working on my other fics, so this will have to do for now. I’m planning on writing a songfic for S.H.E’s Superstar as well. Please do wait for it :3
This one is very Yunjae-centric, with Junki as Jae’s older brother :3
The original song is Qing Tian Wawa, by Jiang Yu Chen.
Lyrics will be bolded, flashbacks will be italicized and the emphasis and thoughts will be the opposite of the scene. If it’s a flashback, then they will be regular. If it’s regular, then it’ll be italics.
Weather Doll
The osmanthus’ fragrance from outside drifts in front of my study table
It was late spring, almost summer, and flowers all over the place were at full bloom, some from the fruit trees were beginning to turn into small growing fruits. The air was hot but humid, and the occasional breeze blew in, relieving those who were feeling hot because of the season.
While others were busy preparing for a new day ahead of them, one Kim Jaejoong was still in his bed, dressed in his Hamtaro pajamas, his cover tangled at his feet, and his face buried into his soft white pillow.
“Mm…” he mumbled to himself as he enjoyed the breeze that blew through his open window, but was covered by the curtains. The scent of the flower bushes outside his house hit him, and he sighed in bliss.
However, it didn’t last long as the breeze suddenly stopped, and he felt a shiver running up his spine.
I know I should be getting out of bed, but Mother gives me another two minutes
Jaejoong blinked an eye open, and silently wondered why his room was suddenly so dark. Glancing at his bedside table, he saw his alarm clock, and knew that it was time for him to get up.
“Morning Jae,” his mother called as she walked in, carrying a set of clothes she had just finished ironing. “You can sleep for two more minutes if you want. Junki is still using the bathroom.”
“Okay,” Jaejoong agreed, and pulled the cover up to his chin to block off the suddenly chilly air around him.
Opening the curtains, I wonder why today is raining
“Hey, time for you to take a bath,” Junki said as he walked into Jaejoong’s room. “Don’t take too long. You’re going to school today.”
“Yeah… I know, I know, the holiday is over,” Jaejoong sighed. The mid-term’s one-week holiday had just finished, and he was back to school.
He walked over to his window, and slowly drew back the curtain, immediately greeted by droplets of rain water that splashed onto his face.
He closed his eyes, and sighed. “Why does it rain today?”
Bite the toast into small pieces to feed my dog named Mikai
“Yah, don’t take that one! That’s mine!” Jaejoong protested as he helplessly watched Junki taking the last piece of meat from the plate, and eating it.
He pouted while tearing off the toast into small pieces for their pet dog.
Junki laughed. “Okay, okay, I’ll take some more from the kitchen for you,” he offered, and walked towards the kitchen, ruffling Jaejoong’s hair on his way there.
“Humph,” Jaejoong continued to feed their dog, which was barking happily near his feet as it looked up, mouth hanging open as if wanting to be fed directly.
My older brother tells me to guess why it’s raining today
“Don’t forget to bring an umbrella!”
“Yes, umma!”
Jaejoong sighed as he looked out of the window again, gripping onto his umbrella’s handle. Although he liked fancy things, he kept his umbrella simple. It was plain black.
“Hey,” Junki said as he stepped beside Jaejoong. “You’re wondering why it’s raining, right? Guess.”
It’s actually because Mikai ate the weather doll
“Hm…” Jaejoong mumbled as he walked alongside Junki. They went to the same school, so they usually walked together, but only until they reached a certain place. Then, they would go separate ways.
“Come on, just guess,” Junki smiled at him, reaching over to ruffle his hair, but Jaejoong quickly stepped aside.
“Don’t mess my hair,” Jaejoong protested. “I don’t want to spend any time fixing it.”
Junki laughed. “You’re always in a bad mood during rainy days.”
“Thank you for being obvious,” Jaejoong huffed. “So? Why is it?”
“Oh,” Junki said. “It’s because Mikai ate your weather doll.”
“What!? He did!?” Jaejoong shrieked. “Aish! I’m not going to give him dinner tonight!”
And Junki only laughed as he watched his brother storm off to their destination.
I hate a rainy day
“I’ll be going first,” Junki said as he waved at Jaejoong who stood in front of a simple two-story house. “Don’t take too long, or you might be late.”
“Yes, I know,” Jaejoong waved back at him, and stood there, waiting.
He looked up, and noticed that the sun was still shining up there, a rare occurrence that did little to help lift his mood. He sighed, and refrained himself from leaning on the wall behind him.
“There is a reason why I hate rainy days,” he mumbled to himself, stepping backwards quickly when a car zoomed past him, nearly splashing him with water. “And also, because I can’t do anything.”
Dearest, you should come out now
“Aish, Yunho, you better come out quick,” Jaejoong groaned loudly as he felt the urge to bang his head on the wall, but realized that Junki and his mother would flip, so he didn’t.
He had been waiting there for almost ten minutes, and three cars, five motorcycles, seven bicycles, and nine people had passed him, and some had splashed him with water.
His mood was getting darker and darker by each passing moment. He was sorely tempted to go back home and announce that he was sick, and cuddle up in his bed again.
“Argh!” he shouted in frustration as he pulled at his hair, but squeaked in surprise when a strong wind blew, and his umbrella’s handle escaped his grasp.
“No!”
Or else I will tell Mother you’ve been secretly holding my hand
“Hey Yunho!” Jaejoong greeted as he waved from the front gate, waiting for Yunho to walk over to him.
“Hey to you too,” Yunho chuckled. “Why are you here so early? I thought you like to sleep?”
“Well,” Jaejoong started, “I pass your house on the way to school, so instead of making you walk to my house then back here again, I come here to pick you up. Aren’t I nice?”
Yunho laughed again, and ruffled his hair. “And what made you think I want to walk to school with you?”
“Because I’m just good like that,” Jaejoong grinned widely.
Yunho snorted. “You wish,” he teased, but he reached out to take Jaejoong’s hand in his. “Come on, we’re going to be late.”
And as they walked together to school hand-in-hand, the other students had learned to ignore them and not fuss over it because it was a daily happening.
I like summer because of the feeling of you wearing a sleeveless shirt
“Don’t stray too far. It’s hot today,” Junki warned as he watched Jaejoong run out of the hotel lobby, and to the beach right outside.
“Okay~!” Jaejoong shouted as he waved at Junki, rushing as he fought to keep his flip-flops in place.
“Aish, that kid,” Junki sighed as he rubbed his temple, watching his little brother get excited at the sight of sea.
Because they lived in a city, they rarely saw the sea. And when they did, he would always get excited at it.
“Where’s Jae?” Yunho asked as he walked towards Junki who was still musing by the front door. “Out again?” he asked, looking at the people wandering outside.
“Yeah,” Junki nodded. “Can you look after him?”
“Of course,” Yunho nodded, and walked out of the hotel, calmly walking towards Jaejoong who was standing by the sea, watching the wave crash.
“Hey,” Yunho said, tapping Jaejoong’s shoulder. “Don’t stand too close.”
“Oh, hey Yunho,” Jaejoong greeted cheerfully
“Stand back, Jae,” Yunho warned again, pulling him back.
Jaejoong pouted. “Just because I almost got carried by the wave that time doesn’t mean I will,” he said, crossing his arms in front of his chest. “Don’t you trust me or something?”
“No I don’t.”
It was almost like a reflex, and Yunho laughed as he watched Jaejoong get mad and hit his arm-playfully, but it still hurt.
Yunho looked behind them, and his eyes widened. “Jaejoong-ah!” he quickly pulled Jaejoong close to him and moved backwards, stumbling down because he did so too quickly.
Jaejoong was about to protest, but when he felt the wave crashing onto his lower leg, he was thankful Yunho was there.
“You okay?” Yunho asked, still holding him close.
“Yeah…” Jaejoong mumbled, and hugged Yunho back, silently reveling in the feel of Yunho wearing only a sleeveless shirt.
“Aside from the beach, this is why I love summer.”
Everyday is so sweet and I miss you
A hand reached up and easily caught the umbrella’s handle. The owner of the hand pulled it down, and handed it back to Jaejoong who was a little surprised.
“Waited for long?” Yunho asked with a small smile. He walked over to Jaejoong, and covered the two of them with the umbrella.
“What do you think, jerk?” Jaejoong pouted, hitting Yunho’s arm. “I got wet because of you,” he said, motioning at his drenched pants.
Yunho chuckled, and slung an arm around Jaejoong’s shoulder. “Let’s go to school then.”
Yunho had never bothered to bring an umbrella with him whenever it was raining. Jaejoong had never questioned why.
And then, as Jaejoong snuggled closer to Yunho and felt a soft kiss on his forehead, he decided he could learn to like rainy days.
I Love Summer
You know what I was thinking during the whole time I wrote this…? I think Jae sounds a lot like Junsu -_-;;;;
Like I’ve said before, songfics will have no NGs as well. The list of fics that won’t have any NG: serious fics (like SoM, and some other later), NC-17 fics, songfics, and script-formatted fics, like Spoken and Written, simply because there’s nothing to NG :3
I might consider writing an “NG collection” for a serious series once it’s over though.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this
