A/N: this is written for jaeho_challenge’s second theme, real-life events.  Takes place before and after Yunho’s glue-poisoning incident.  Enjoy~

By the way, the title is not mine.  I’d like to credit Sano from FF.net who wrote a fic with that title first :3 although the fics are very different.  Just the title.  And I somehow find myself writing in a different way for this challenge.  I wonder why.

Each of the Memories

Jaejoong walked into the classy restaurant slowly, looking around as he took in how people around him dressed, and suddenly felt a little self-conscious.  Sure, he had worn a suit as well, but somehow it just seemed different.

“A table for two, Sir?” a waiter asked as he walked up to him.

“No, I’m here for someone.  Jung Yunho-shii, has he come here?” Jaejoong asked back.

“Ah, yes.  Please, follow me,” the waiter nodded, and led him to a room at the back.  It was a VIP room.  “He’s inside.  Please enjoy your time here.”

Jaejoong nodded at him, and watched as he left, before he opened the door and stepped inside.  It was dark, the lamp was off, but there was a candelabra on the table, filled with scented candles.

“Like what you see?” Yunho asked as he hugged Jaejoong from behind, his mouth coming to a rest right beside Jaejoong’s left ear, and it made the other man shiver.

“Not really,” Jaejoong grinned as his hands shot up to wrap around Yunho’s hands.  “I like what I can’t see.”

Yunho chuckled and let go of Jaejoong, leading him to the table.  “Sit down.  I’ve ordered the dinner.  Nothing you don’t like.”

“Thank you,” Jaejoong nodded, and sighed.

“Is something the matter, Boo?” Yunho asked, concern lacing his tone.

“No, no.  It’s just that… I can’t believe it’s already three years since that time,” Jaejoong smiled wryly.  “You scared me to death that time.”

“Aw,” Yunho cooed.  “But you know I won’t leave you.  Not when you’ve just told me you loved me.”

“I did not!” Jaejoong blushed bright red.  “I only asked you out!  It was only two years ago when I said that!”

Yunho laughed, and fell silent, remembering what happened on the day they first went out.  The exact same day three years ago.

-.-.-.-.-. flashback -.-.-.-.-.

“Hyung,” Changmin sighed irritably.  “If you like him just tell him so!  I’m sure he won’t be heartless enough to break your heart and step on it or something.”

“You don’t know that!” Jaejoong protested, crossing his arms in front of his chest.  “That doesn’t mean he won’t reject me!  And I don’t want him to agree out of pity!”

“Then go get yourself a girlfriend,” Changmin rolled his eyes.

“What!?” Jaejoong seemed horrified by that suggestion.  “How could you!  I thought you love me Min!  Don’t you dare roll your eyes at your hyung!”

“…”

“And no dinner for you today!” Jaejoong huffed.

“Fine!  I’ll go talk to him!” Changmin shouted in distress as he threw his hands up in the air, and quickly got up from his seat, approaching Yunho.

“Wha-no!  Min!  Wait!” Jaejoong shouted at him, and ran after him.

“Hey!  Watch it!” Changmin shouted as he was tackled down to the floor by Jaejoong.

“I told you no!” Jaejoong pouted.

“But you’re just going to angst over it anyway!” Changmin retorted.  “Why don’t you try telling him?  That way, you can have something else to angst over.”

“Meanie!” Jaejoong accused.

“Yes, that’s my name,” Changmin was about to roll his eyes again, but stopped when he saw Jaejoong glaring at him.  “But seriously hyung, just tell him.”

“And get depressed over it?” Jaejoong huffed.  “Not a chance, kiddo.  Unless you want to eat eggplants for dinner, I suggest no.”

“Why eggplants?” Changmin was taken aback.

“Because… they’re purple?” Jaejoong asked back.

“…”

“…”

“Your logic amazed me,” Changmin sighed.

“Hey!  I couldn’t think of anything blue, okay?” Jaejoong squeaked.

Changmin looked at him.  “You’re hopeless,” he stated.

“So!?  That doesn’t harm anyone!” Jaejoong defended himself.

“Wait,” Changmin said as he stood up, and turned around.  “Yunho-hyung!  Jaejoong-hyung wants to talk to you!”

“Minnie!” Jaejoong was horrified.  He watched as Changmin dashed off, and was sorely tempted to dash off after him, and jump off the building.  Or push Changmin off the building.

“Yes?  What is it Boo?” Yunho asked as he walked towards Jaejoong.  The nickname started out as a tease, but it soon became a habit he found hard to break.

“Um… I-I wanted to ask what you’d like for dinner,” Jaejoong stammered, and he swore he could see Changmin rolling his eyes while watching from a distance.

“Ah.  Have you asked the others?” Yunho asked.

“Um… yes.  Apparently, Changmin wants eggplants,” Jaejoong smiled at him.  At the background, Changmin was flailing like mad, crossing his arms to form the letter X.

“Oh,” Yunho mumbled as he blinked.  “If he wants eggplants… then I think it’s alright.”

“Oh, okay,” Jaejoong nodded.

Yunho was about to walk off again, when Changmin suddenly shouted, “Jaejoong-hyung isn’t finished yet!”

And Jaejoong threw Changmin one of his shoes.

“Is there something else?” Yunho asked.

“Erm… well…” Jaejoong stuttered.  “I just… wanted to ask you… ifyouwouldliketogoouttothemoviesthisweekend.”

“Come again?” Yunho asked.

Jaejoong pouted and punched Yunho’s arm.  “You heard me.”

“You know me too well,” Yunho grinned at him.  “Are you asking me out?”

“Do you have to ask, Mr. Obvious?” Jaejoong rolled his eyes.  (Changmin: “You told me to not roll my eyes!”  Jaejoong: “Shut up!”)

“I don’t see why not,” Yunho shrugged.  “We got a day off this Saturday.  I think.”

“Great.  We’ll talk about the details later,” Jaejoong beamed at him.  “Now, I have a prankster to take care of, and a shoe to retrieve,” he said, and rushed off to give chase to Changmin.

Yunho laughed as he watched his two bandmates chasing each other.  Saying he was happy was an understatement.  He himself had liked Jaejoong for a while now.

And when someone came to him bringing a bottle of juice, he didn’t think twice before accepting it and downing the contents.

-.-.-.-.-. end of flashback -.-.-.-.-.

Yunho smiled bitterly as he remembered the looks on everyone’s faces when they saw him collapse.  The days spent on the hospital bed being mourned over or scolded.  The look of relief on Jaejoong’s face when he was discharged from the hospital.  And also, the look of pride on Jaejoong’s face when he forgave the one who gave him the juice.

“Yunho-yah?  Is something wrong?” Jaejoong asked as he held Yunho’s hand, looking at him worriedly.

“No, I was just remembering,” Yunho smiled at him.

“About that incident?” Jaejoong frowned.

“Yes,” Yunho shrugged.  He rested his hand on top of Jaejoong’s and squeezed it.  “I won’t leave you.”

“I know,” Jaejoong smiled at him, and their dinner arrived.

As he watched Jaejoong eat happily, he decided on one thing.  What happened in the past, no matter how bad, if it brought you and your loved one together, will always be a fond memory.

Will Forever be Cherished

Hope you enjoyed that :D I just remembered about this.  I promise I’ll get version 2 of the fight up tomorrow if I can :D
