Heh... thank you very much for the vote of confidence on Cocytus (and I liked Birds of Preigh!). I have, however, written a very bad novel. It's name was Capri and I finished at 14 (or was it 15? Probably 14). It qualified as a novel in that it has a beginning, rising action, climax, falling action, denoument, and is over 150 pages, and it failed in being a novel because it sucked so bad. Over the course of my life I have tried to edit it at least three distinct times (while I was writing it, at age 16-17, and age 18-19) but to no avail. At 19 I closed the project and said that one day I would be able to rewrite it and make it good - but only when I knew how. I estimated maybe when I was 30. Still don't know about that.

And man, if some one had told me that "penguin" was a viable career option, sheeeeit, I'd have that in my list too ::grin::

Oooh now I remember hearing about Capri. I don't think you let me read it at the time but yes. :)

I've tried a few times to fix Birds of Preigh but it's no longer a story I want to tell, you know? I have other stories. The problems I see with Birds of Preigh now are so inherent in the plot line. the wishful thinking, the convenient placing them in the middle of nowhere, how friggin young Hannah is. When I was 11, a twelve year old seemed Very Grown Up and capable of all the shit Hannah has to do in the plot. And man, Isabel the 15 year old sister who is just about all grown up... it's fine for Hannah to see her that way but she shouldn't be about to be getting married. *g*

*babbles*

If you ever do get around to rewriting Capri, I wanna read :)

Heh... that precisely describes Capri as well. In fact I am inspired to post about it. Keep an eye out ::grin::
