Yuber happens to be out this night, since he much prefers to be in the village itself at night when there were less humans.
And he does recognize Kaori, he'd spoken to her when he was stuck in Vash's body that one time and she had seemed interesting and he had wanted to see if that was really her, or something induced by that experiment.
So for now, he's watching the girl from a nearby rooftop. Chances are though, Kaori will be able to tell she is being watched and may well feel a nearby inhuman presence.]

As for grabbing his attention, her idea is to just stare at them, as she's doing to Dhaos now. Even if she can't see what her eyes are pointing to, it had the same effect as if she were. It's also easy to pick up another active presence when everyone else was asleep, and she could sense his homesickness just faintly from where she is.]
