CAMPUS RULES
Absences and Attendance
Attendance is taken in the classroom each day immediately after the bell rings. Students arriving late should stop by the administration office prior to going to class for a late slip. The only excused absenses and tardies are illness and planned absences cleared by the student's parents and administration. In the case of absence, the student will have their assignments delivered to them at the end of the school day.
Checking In
All students must check in with a supervising adult before each meal and in the case of upperclassmen, before leaving campus on the weekends and upon returning at night. This is very important, as it allows Seireitei to keep students safe and taken care of.
Conferences and Report Cards
Each parent will have a conference with the teacher in the fall. Parents may ask for additional conferences at any time. There are four (4) report periods, one at the end of each quarter; however, a conference is held in lieu of the first report card.
Health Policy
A clinic is available to students in the event of illness. Students attending school should be in good physical health and without signs of contagious diseases. Communicable diseases should be reported to the clinic so that exposure notices may be sent home to parents. School personnel can assist with the administering of medication to students only if the proper permission and prescription form is filed in the administration office. Students taking medication at school must notify their teachers and file the proper form in the administration office. All medication is to be kept in the clinic.
Off-campus Policy
Students are not allowed to leave campus without the supervision of a faculty member or in the event of a field trip or retreat.
Student Incident Reports
Student Incident Reports are issued to students when there is a need to change the student’s behavior. The purpose of the Student Incident Report is to allow for immediate communication between the home and school so the we can work together to resolve the problem. This report is not a part of the student’s permanent record, but is used by the teacher, parent and principal to monitor student behavior. Student Incident Reports require a parent’s signature and indicate the consequences of the student’s action.
If a student chooses to break a school rule, the following consequences may occur:
A Student Incident Report will be issued by a member of the school staff.
The teacher may phone the parent (especially on a reoccurring problem).
A parent conference may be set up with the teacher.
In the event of a "Severe Clause" incident or a repeating problem, the child will be sent to the office to see the Principal and the Principal will attempt to reach the parents by phone.
SEVERE CLAUSE: Students will not willfully harm another person. This means that students will not:
fight
be defiant
throw objects
disrupt the class
If a student’s behavior is so severe that it threatens safety or causes serious physical harm, the parent will be contacted immediately and the student will be removed from school.
