Basically, central's got some weird-ass cannibalistic (?) homunculi that are going apeshit. Also, Envy's been reduced to a tiny green parasite monster. XD

(It did, and until I post it, it's FMA Brotherhood Episode 51, right after the commercial break in the middle.)
Fast forward to 5 minutes in to see the bit I'm talking about.

One, this is BEAUTIFULLY animated (even if the subject matter is grotesque, lol.) BUT SO GORGEOUS. D:
That chick can kick ASS, and LOOK AT ENVY.
LOOK AT HIM!!
LOOK at that laugh he gives out!
That face he makes while laughing is amazing. That is NOT a stereotypical, stock anime face. That is the face of a person with raw, real emotions - that is no shorthand. That's maniacal laughter, joy, sinister glee, somehow mixed with longing, relief, disbelief...
THAT'S AMAZING.
And then the evil smugness of the "Arigato, ne?" he says in singsong.
YESS.
THIS is the kind of shit I love. I'd DIE to get to do things like this. I LOVE seeing work this well-done. I REALLY want to see more of this series now, I need to catch up so hardcore. But just... I love it when people make things that feel REAL like that. Not afraid to make him look a little ugly for the sake of the proper expression. It could've been done SO stereotypically evil-villain, and it WASN'T. So that makes me very happy...
I love this series so much. ;_; It gives me hope that you can make a story that serious, fucked up, and brutal, and have it... work. Work with a cuter, anime style (though I will say, I love the physicality of the characters, how they have weight, anatomy... it's more "cute" than "anime" that's sometimes incongruous. XD), have it be accepted, when it was written by a woman - and then have it be popular, watched, and well-loved? D8 And yet it deals with the basic parts of humanity, it's crushingly sad at times, people get so hurt, and so many ghastly things happen...
It's an amazing story.
I can only hope to one day be as awesome as this. But it gives me hope that I CAN be! :D
