musings: the thing about "tony's search"

"We wanted to feel Tony’s search appropriately, and the only way you feel that is, for a little while, to have him looking for her. To not have him connect with her just yet. The only way we can do that is to have her not be present, and then have her appear when we least expect it."

I have said this before but I will say it again.

To me, those episodes weren’t really about Ziva. They were more about Tony, and Gibbs, and the team. They laid bases for how the other characters will go from now on after Ziva is gone. How the team will cope after she left. And that’s one of so many reasons why this is so upsetting.

Ziva’s last episodes. You would think they would give you more insight on her thought process, on her struggle. You would think we could instead following Ziva’s journey to understand her decision better.
