Yes, I've been away from LJ for a looooooooooooong time BUT! I have an excuse. Or, well, I have a lot of whining that might serve as a completely pathetic attempt at an excuse.

Anyhoo, my reasons are:

1. Uni is eating my soul brain. Especially Arabic. We're almost through with the alphabet now, and while I'm pretty good at pronouncing all the sounds, I often can't tell the difference between ح and خ (the former being an aspirated H, the latter what I call the Tyrolean K or, for non-German speakers, that sound that everybody believes is the German CH, but really isn't) or ت and ط (both are Ts, but the latter is "emphatic", which means it makes the vowels around it sound "darker". There's the same for s too.)


2. I HAVE A JOB; PPL!!! AT LUSH!!! OMG IT IS SO AWESOME AND THE PEOPLE ARE SO NICE BUT IT'S 20HRS A WEEK AND I HAVE TO REMEMBER ALL THE INGREDIENTS AND SHIT AND IT'S KILLING ME AND THEN I FEEL ALL FAIL-Y AROUND MY CO-WORKERS EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE SO LOVELY. But seriously, it's so lovely to have an actual factual job, not tutoring or translating. Especially at LUSH (where I get 50% staff discount OMG)

SO, yeah, those posts about Ireland and Sicily? I haven't forgotten about them. They are in the making. At some point. Eventually. So to speak. Yeah.
