So "a horse" has been at the top of my christmas list ever since I can remember, and it's also topped the list of things I wanted to buy with my first real paycheck. Due to being excessively broke by the end of school, I thought a horse would have to wait a few years, but Sheena just gave me the horse she got from Lindsey, so my first purchase from my first full paycheck was a pretty saddle from the Amish saddle shop northwest of Jesup. ($638 (including tax) bought me a FlexTree saddle (dark leather), not-quite-but-almost-matching bridle & bit, neoprene girth strap, fly spray, and saddle blanket. It got me a trip into amish country which was a new experience for me -- outside the saddle shop was a horse harnessed to a plow, and on the road we passed a wagon pulled by a team of 4 horses.
