Flag burning a sign of the times.

So I saw a news snippet when I got home about a ban on flag burning amendment failing by one vote. Looked at the yay nay's and it was a feeble attendance in the first place. So on the congressional level it looked like a whatever kind of response...
But what got me was the some 45000+ votes in the readers poll that was 44% yay 56% nay.
To me this is a clear cut sign that a large portion of america is blinded by their idealogical shell.
I don't think it should be necissarily illegal. But it would be suitable if there was a fine to impose on the city level for places where an idol holds that much personal value.
But damn, 44% of 45k is alot of narrow minded individuals.
