Happy Exhausted

Nov 07, 2010 14:40

If my family didn't wake me up for church and the curtains were all drawn, I'd probably still be dead to the world right now.

While I'm still sleepy, I'm mostly happy-tired. I kind of want to nap, but I still have to unpack and fix my things (my bed looks like an explosion of clothes and plastic bags). Which I'm too lazy for, so here I am, procrastinating by making a journal entry.

First and foremost, congratulations, up_ame! After all of our fears about the event, every little worry and anxiety and frustration and tension, we finally finished it. I'm really happy about the event: one of the ones I enjoyed the most. I got a little sentimental about it earlier after realizing it was my last one as a member. Unless I get delayed or something, lol. Hopefully not!

Second, thank you so much to everyone who went to the event! I can't express how happy I was to see so many people around after all of our worries about publicizing and pimping. So many people were smiling and laughing as they went around, and seeing those really helped to shoo away the tiredness.

Third, I'm really sorry to everyone who couldn't make it in. I was inside the hall most of the time during the event, save for about twenty minutes when I was tasked to find change for the tickets, and getting back inside felt like crawling through throngs of people. I'm really sorry to everyone who looked forward to our event but had to go home. Personally, I didn't expect so many people to arrive, and although it was great to see that so many people were hyped up for our event, it was equally saddening to hear that no one was being let inside anymore. For more information, please wait for the official statement to be released soon! I'll link as soon as it's up.

I got to sleep over for the second time ever! *O* After much assisted packing, I headed off to UP to meet with AME Replay Cafe people for the night's prodwork right before the fair. It was raining really hard - a happy sign, but really inconvenient and icky. ._.

The truck was still there, so that was really cool to see! *O* And Kyle gave us some red ginseng candy from Korea, which actually wasn't so bad, but the aftertaste lingered forever. Finally got funds from psychedelic_aya, so kyoy, sappherine and I went off to buy ingredients for cookies and then headed to psychedelic_aya's house.

I got to help shape the mochi! It was hard at first, but I got the hang of it, and soon my misshapen (but still beautiful) babies became perfect mochi babies! We kind of dozed off while the next batch was cooking and kyoy was fixing up the menu, but then the batch finished and sappherine and I went off to pick up Jelo and Anne. The walk took forever - thank goodness they got there just as psychedelic_aya and alabapoy did, so we hitched a ride back.

Stuff happened and then we picked up wuzu on our way to NB for assorted school supplies. And we bought Mineshiiiine. My first own bottle (which I still haven't finished yet)! I sucked at cutting tickets and working on the finishing touches to the headsets, so I mostly stuck with helping with cooking. We had dinner and more people arrived and I stamped a lot of tickets! And then helped with molding cookies and then slept for three hours.

Woke up at past 4 to help pack up and get ready for the day. We eventually left later than intended, and picked up McDo for brekkie. Finally got to the venue and helped finish set-up. Was charged insanely for printing, whut. Anyway, finally got back, got dressed up (thank you, mirai_kazuko, Kessiah-baby, and sappherine!) and wandered around till the pre-event gathering. It felt really good to yell the chant, and we were all hyped up. Abused the adjoining photobooth till gates opened, and then went around to pimp out the cafe to attendees!

Was sent on an errand. When I got back, the cafe was already open, and I helped out with prep and disposal till the next batch. I still think I'm an amateur host, but I hope my customers liked the food. They seemed happy about the event, so I'm really glad.

We eventually closed around cosplay competition time because there were so many people gathering around. I got a scrape from the tables. ;_; Picked up the free dinner and ate and helped set down and did odd little things around the event. Fair closed with the last perf, it was awesome, met a few familiar faces, cleaning up wasn't so awesome, debriefing happened, and hitched a ride with mirai_kazuko home! ydpsh's camera was scary. ;_;

Aaaaand managed to take off make-up and changed and freshened up before passing out. I wish I could've slept more than eight hours.

I love Track 10 and up_ame.
