The quote heading this entry comes from me, today, trying to explain the first thirty pages of Johnny Got His Gun. This made sense in my head.

2. Yay for plain foods! I like my food flavorful, but not too...twiddled with.

4. *roffle* Oh dear, poor teacher - I bet she never expected you to run away with the grade system, lol. Reminds me of when I was in early high school, and the English teacher asked us to write how many books we thought we read in a year, and with great sarcasm she said "Now who wrote down that they read a hundred books a year?" And I very sheepishly raised my hand while my classmates all nodded and said "yep, she probably does." And here I thought I'd been making a conservative estimate! (Most of them were re-reads of my favorite YA fantasy sci-fi books, not like I was reading War and Peace, but still, I polished off a book every day or two in those days ^_~)

5. You are so a genius *pokes* I've known it since I read your first fic. That said, yeah, IQ testing only catches certain flavors of smarts, and them not so well many times.

I sort of picture your writing as looking through a kaleidoscope - not usually straight description, but the world through multifaceted lenses, the minds of your characters, beautiful and intricate and shifting sometimes. Unflinching from the darker aspects of various personalities, and then you'll turn around and stun me with these beautiful bright shining hearts.
