SBS Transit launched the "Flag the Bus Early" campaign during this week. At this point, I would like to launch my "Roll my Eyes till They Drop" campaign.
I really think that SBS Transit is missing the whole point here.
Just 'cos commuters are not flagging the bus early, hence bus captains shouldnt slow down or stop at the bus stops??! There is something called poor eyesight (sans the current haze), especially with the senior citizens. And from the point of spotting the bus approaching the bus stop, confirming that it is the right bus, and our brain processing that info, and to the point when we are suppose to get up and flag th bus, it would take at least 10-15secs. Hey, to a senior citizen, 10 secs would mean the bus travelling at maximum warp speed towards the bus stop. Senior citizens would be lucky if they managed to flag down the bus with their thumbs (if anyone saw The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, you will get my drift).
Yes. Commuters have to be responsible and do their part. But to spend $$ (in the midst of price hikes and you screaming of increasing operational costs!) on a campaign to educate the public, at least spend it where it matters, i.e. "Please Move to the Back of the Bus" campaign. It makes more practical sense!
I bet the A&P people at SBS Transit must have been forced into carrying out this campaign by their senior management. Cos if they didnt, then I really wonder what their HR department is doing. Are you recruiting the right people for the job??! (You might want to hire me, a person with more common sense. I am available if you are reading this, and if you got pass the insult)
What's the point about this campaign again??!

The weather is really nuts. Now its raining everyday (and the higher possibility of being exposed to acid rain). Although rain is better than haze. Oh well.
