So, last week told me about Repo! The Genetic Opera.
My initial response was neutral, and, in retrospect, a lot of that was due to Paris Hilton's name's attachment to the production.
But, Anthony Stewart Head disemboweling people while singing a rock opera was enough get me interested in watching it.
And I didn't even realize that it was incredibly gothily stylized, which struck me as being positively delightful, and prompted me to be more aware than I previously had been of one way in which my sexual wiring is wrong: a girl with skin like milk, hair like raven feathers and lips like fresh blood is incredibly, illogically hot to me.
So anyway, Repo! is totally, absurdly awesome, and that comes from someone who on several occasions had to avert his eyes to avoid being permanently squicked. Anyway, you should all watch it.
Also, I think I'm officially going to say that while I don't exactly think Paris Hilton is a paragon of virtue or brilliance, that I think she is thoroughly dedicated to changing her image, or at least trying to not be a spoiled rich bitch. The role she *fought* to get in Repo! is not a role that someone without a shred of depth would be interested in, and indeed, I could see how it might be deeply personal for her to want to be Amber Sweet. Also, this is the first time I've ever seen Paris Hilton as anything like hot.
Okay, I'm done.
