Finals week

Well, 2 finals down, 2 to go. I played Chocobo-chocobo as one of the pieces in my juries for applied piano, and one of the judges almost recognized it. It was really well-received, though, as it's actually an entertaining piece that none of them had heard before (except one). They asked me where I got it and a couple of them wrote the piece name down. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught Dr. Hamm tapping her toe. In the studio class last week, someone definitely knew what it was from based on the look he gave me from across the room. Not a bad look, but a knowing one. So my nontraditional ride across the music department here at OU continues!

That recording I linked to sounds like it's played on a keyboard instead of a piano. Very precise at the cost of inflection. I like the way I'm playing it a bit better, actually. Plus, it's more fun to play a piece like that than to listen to it.

My next final is Spanish, and I need a high C to maintain my A in the course. I'm going to have to do a little vocab practice tomorrow for that. Differential equations requires a low B, but studying for math tests is a bit silly if you've been doing well on the homework.

Every day I try to look back and think of three things I've learned, and yesterday, given how tremendously lazy it was (one final, didn't do anything else at all), it took me a long time to come up with the three things. Goodness, I'm bored.

Maybe I can get a game of Arkham Horror going tomorrow. Talked with some friends about it today, looking like a distinct possibility.

I've been approved for another semester of piano lessons, which means I'm going to have another 19-hour upper-division semester... Just this one will be really spanish-intensive, whereas the last one was really biology/chemistry/physics-intensive.

Edit: Still bored, but I found another piece I'd like to try, so it's off to the piano practice facility!
