Pa-chow! Take that stupid student who didn’t like my essay in Biology. What now!? I bet you’ve never got your essays published in a magazine. ^___________^ I bet you didn't even get to speak at your middle school graduation. *blows raspberry*

“Congratulations! Your essay has been chosen for print in the Spring 2010 Student Essay Anthology Magazine (SEA). Please attach and email a copy of your essay by this Friday, 4/30/10, so we can format it for print. You are also invited to the publication reception held in the library at Moorpark College on Saturday, 5/22/10 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. where you will receive a free copy of the SEA Magazine. There will be additional copies for sale as well.”

**I like to thank my Bubbe and the people who help review my essay. TY Sammie :P**

Today in BIO lab we played Predator and Prey. Skittles and M&M’s were scattered on the quad w/ a few designated safety zones. The preys are birds with different shaped beaks: Spoon, Fork and Knife. The object is to scoop 12 candies into your stomach (cup) in one minuet; if you don’t get 12 by the end of the minuet that means you starved to death. While avoiding your predator: Cats and the occasional coyote who can eat both birds and cats.

It was really fun and a great way to get across the concept of Evolution and other factors that tie into it, such as hunting in a pack, and camouflage. At the expense of his own life one guy stood on lookout shouting “Cat! Coyote!” There is also a term called critical # to flee. Apparently if one person flees, the others will just think that person is being a chicken. But if 3 or more people start fleeing then others flee with them. Lol my class is hilarious. All the fork people well all: “fork powers unite!” It was really funny because they were just like birds the way they huddled under the tree and then quickly flocked to the food when everything was safe. People passing by were probably thinking we were insane.

Movies:

The Lovely Bones- It was good, weird and pretty. I would love to play in a limbo world like that. O___O Kinda sucks about what happens to her bones but at least there was a happy ending with karma prevailing. ^^ The girl who narrates the movie did a lovely job.

Sherlock Homes- The movie seemed to drag on a bit. If I didn’t know any better I swear the relationship between Holmes and Watson is the portrayal of Queer men. It was decent I suppose, I really did enjoy the science aspect of it.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus- Now this movie was weird. It’s dark and people’s dreams in this movie is full of crack. It got me really confused because one minuet the character Tony was played by Heath Ledger then net thing I know it’s Johnny Depp, Jude Law, or Colin Farrell. I was like O___O dude! I can’t tell who is who! It’s like when I discovered a singer whose voice I really liked but then learned he belonged to a 13 member Asian pop group in which at the beginning they all just happened to look that same to me. ((lol SuJu)) It wasn’t until driving to school this morning did I learn why they needed the extra actors to play the role of Tony. Apparently Heath died in the middle of the filming so they changed the plot a bit in which Tony, takes on other forms when he is in the dream world. One of the reasons we stuck with the movie was because of the “all star cast”, I mean who wouldn’t love Christopher Plummer; he narrated Madeline. :P Now I wouldn’t say the movie was necessarily bad, it was good in its own weird way.

Casablanca- Considering I tend to quote this movie often, I figured I should at least watch it once. It was good, but I would have been totally lost if my dad had not given me a brief history of WWII. Remarkable how they made an ending to a film when in reality WWII was still going on and did not know the outcome of the war. Some great quotes from the movie: “Here’s to looking at you kid”, “Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship”, and last but not least “Play it Sam. Play ‘As time goes by”. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo2Lof_5dy4&feature=related

There is a restaurant out here called Casablanca, which is designed to look like Rich’s bar in the film. ((They have amazing tortillas: So soft, buttery and fluffy. <3 <3 <3))

So in class this week my teacher was trying to get the class to say “scientific method” but instead everyone just gave her a blank stare. So I said it…then she when to the board and said “Say it again Sam” which made me LMAO, because only her and I actually understood what film she was alluding to. *coincidently I had just watched that film 3 days before*

Night Mare on Elm St- I’m going to watch it this Saturday with Katherine.
