I found Grimsley the easiest myself (well, him or Marshal). Cattelya (Caitlin is her English name, I think? with some characters, I forget one name or the other xD) sucked, though. =3= I couldn't beat her the first time around. Because I was too lazy to level extra, I had to use a LOT of items; I am an utter expert at taking casualties to revive or heal the Pokemon that will help me most. xD Wasn't too bad, though, especially not Ghetsis.
I catch at least one of everything I see and then breed the stuff I like, so my computer is super full. I have a box that's just half full of Vulpix, and this is after I gave a bunch away. I'm currently immersed in filling my pokedex and the pursuit of delicious rarities. After I build up my collection, then comes breeding for optimal mons and putting together teams. So far, via pokeshifting from Pearl and HG (sometimes importing from FR/LG first) and trading, I have Meowth, Hypno, Growlithe, Muk, Seedot, Duskull, Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Chikorita, Torchic, Oshawott, and a number of others. If you need anything and can ever get wifi to cooperate, I will so hook you up.
I'm actually doing White as a Nuzlocke run, though (additional rules because I'm a pansy: box or send to Black, don't release; can catch extra White exclusives for the purpose of sending to Black only; pooossibly skipping duplicate first encounters, but I haven't decided yet). At least, I'm trying. I don't know how long I'll last. xD
I actually just caught a male Volcarona who will be used to breed many, many mothy-things with Fiona. Because I can, and because they both have Flame Body.
If I get WiFi to work.
My Platinum Nuzlocke rules are less extra-y. Catch first 'mon only, including duplicates (beggars can't be choosers). Fainting = dead, release (no boxing). Items okay. Catching shinies okay, as long as they are boxed/traded away. Can continue with boxed 'mons if party is killed. I have lost so many friends (DAMN THAT SKUNTANK). D: Losing Symphony the Kricketune was terrible. I've got everyone's names and level spread written down in a notebook.
Stupidly, I forgot to bring my Dark type (a Liepard, naturally). I had forgotten to switch it for a Gothitelle with one dark move... and she was underleveled. I wanted to try it the second time with the same party just for kicks, so I leveled a bit and made it through.
Yaaay Flame Body.
I'm just a little too much of a pansy not to box, but I think I can deal with duplicates (I'll decide when I run into it; I haven't had that issue yet). Honestly, the hardest thing about dupes is that I'm a VERY gotta-catch-'em-all sort. Like, to a hardcore level.
I sort of have a plot going on in my head for it, though. Nyu will be surrounded by the spirits of her dead Pokemon. The world around her is drenched in grief, but to her, it's just a matter of course. Aware of more than that which is before her own eyes, Nyu cynically laughs at hapless Myo dwelling in the innocent half of their mirrored worlds. But someday Myo will understand what lies just beyond, and Nyu looks forward to that day.
... this would sound so much cooler if those weren't cat sounds, although Myo is actually pronounced mai-oh because it comes from myotis.
