Hey Sony.
So yeah. 8 years. It's been about 8 years since Microsoft came out with the 360 and... well, let's face it. Since that time, you haven't faired too well in America. You really haven't been the same awesome Sony that you use to be back during your prime years in the late 90s and even early 2000s. Through that time, you've struggled long and hard to try to regain that grounds that Microsoft was stealing from you. But it seemed like every time you tried, you tripped and fell.

This especially is a prime example of when you fell hard and couldn't regain yourself for years to come. Through that time, Microsoft has changed the way the gaming market is in the states and... well, frankly, it's been bad. Most "gamers" these days are into the First Person Shooters, blood gore and so on. If you tried to even show a game that was as simple as crash bandicoot or jak and daxter to today's market, it would not sell whatsoever. However, these past few years, you've shown that you still have that Sony magic that I thought was lost long ago. "Journey" is a perfect example of this.
But me bringing up your mistakes isn't why Im writing this memo that you will never read. Oh no. My reason for writing this is for one reason.
Microsoft, the competitor that has held you down for so long, has FINALLY done an equally embarrassing presentation to yours back in 2006.
Now granted, their hardware looks good and the system has potential. But there's one point where they just fell about as hard as when you announced the "Five Hundred and Ninty Nine Dollars" price point: The fact that the system can't play used games.
Sony, you haven't said squat if your PS4 will do the same or not. But if it won't, this is the open shot you've been waiting for for years now. You're GUARANTEED to get at LEAST half of your former install base back if you don't follow Microsoft's lead and you may be poised to be the leader in the gaming industry once more. And seeing that you guys honestly still have it in the unique titles department, it would be a blessing in disguise for the industry if you came back to reclaim your title that you had in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Sony. Please, for the love that is all holy: Don't mess up this chance.
Sincerely,
A old school playstation fan
