In the last 3 days I have made $210. What have I done? I'll tell you:
-worked (a.k.a. real work) approx 5 hours
-updated this
-checked several times
-surfed the web
-watched some homestar runner
All while getting paid. I am awesome.
I discovered today something very true about relationships.
Relationships are a journey. At first, the destination is sex. That's the easy part. Both people are moving toward a common goal and both have the same vision in mind for the relationship. And then you get there, and that's when it gets messy.
After sex, it's like 'where do we go from here'. Half the time, one person wants to really deepen and expand the relationship (i.e. marriage, plan to get married) and the other person is just like 'Um, lets just keep it like it is.'
That's I guess how sex 'screws' up relationships. But it doesn't really at all. See, if it messes the relationship up it's because you both had different plans to begin with. It just aggravates already existing issues. In some ways, I suppose it's a good thing.
Some people start out the relationship with sex. I guess now I can see how that's not a bad option. After all, it gets it out of the way and lets you focus on REALLY where you want the relationship to go.
OR...you could have a talk about what you want out of your relationship with your partner in the beginning. But who communicates anymore? Eh, better just leave it to sex.
